Looking Back on Lost in Translation -My First Film Review

Hey guys, I haven't been on this forum for a while! Just thought I'd direct you to a little article I recently wrote surrounding Lost in Translation. I saw the film shortly after I left college and I was inspired to write a review of it. As it was the first film review I'd ever written, I wanted to ...

It's been a few years since I last watched LiT but I may have to dig out the DVD and explore ithe film's subtleties once again. Thanks for posting!

I have a replica owl Bob gives to Charlotte during the hospital visit. Part of it is grey rather than all white but it is very cool nonetheless. And what's more, I obtained it through a contact on this forum!

Probably the first and second time. The ending obviously hit me the hardest on the first viewing. I did watch it again about a month ago after not having watched it for a good 6 months and it brought back all the old emotions I had experienced when I had first watched it. It's not the type of film y...

I chose "Yes" because if you're able to have "banter" with somebody, it usually means you get on with them, which can be seen as flirting.

I doubt she'll ever match a role like that. That's the problem with appearing in a classic film so early on in your career - it's a struggle to match it later on. She certainly hasn't matched that performance at the moment. No..there hasnt been anything else in her fiilms thats combined both depth ...

Four or five times. It gets boring after that.

Sorry to hear you're leaving. I'll still contribute when I can as they'll always be more Scarlett Johansson/Sofia Coppola films released.

Don't you think you're being a little over-sensitive? The fact that it's set in Tokyo is its only similarity. I don't think it's try to mimic LiT at all.

I think what would have been even cooler is if Scarlett hadn't been given a name at all. Her name is only used very infrequently, as it is. There's the phone call to Lauren, Bob's call to Charlotte, and John's introduction of her to Kelly. Does anyone else have one they can name ? Of course, it wou...

I think it was intended. We all know Sofia had Bill in mind when writing the script, but I also think she has Scarlett in mind also.

I'll have to be content with watching the highlights as it doesn't start until 3am over here in England. I've placed a bet on Rachel Weisz winning best supporting actress for The Constant Gardener. I'd like to see Philip Seymour Hoffman win best actor and Jake Gyllenhaal win best supporting actor. O...
