Personally I enjoyed it. It is not a romantic comedy though, it is a rarity for Hollywood: a movie about corporate life that is neither a satire or a polemic about evil money grubbers. Having just turned 50 I totally related to the whole layoffs, rumors, and management changes thing. The focus of th...

Sorry, forgot to log in. I'm not sure about Bob's feelings for Charlotte being all that chaste. The scene in the elevator after the fire alarm for instance. Bob nods twice at her trying to get her to come to his room. I think she doesn't because of his tryst with the singer, otherwise they might hav...

I enjoyed "In Good Company", it's rare to see a movie about corporate life featuring a character with a functional family. The Alex character could have been played by anyone as far as I was concerned, that subplot only interested me in terms of how it affected the dynamic between the two male leads...

Very interesting post although I think you are giving Sofia too much credit in some ways. LIT was shot in just 27 days and I have written off most of the continuity errors to that. Once the filming is over and you decide to rearrange scenes you're stuck with the attendant inconsistencies (Charlotte ...

I noticed the incessant giggling on about my 5th viewing of the movie. I happen to love LIT but it does get annoying. My main question would be was she directed to do all that giggling by Sofia Coppola, who has what amounts to a schoolgirl crush on Murray. If you watch the making of feature on the D...

The whole Bob/Lydia thing was poorly constructed by Sofia Coppola in my opinion. Bob is probably in his 50's and has been married for 25 years, but that one kid on the phone sounds awfully young. So unless Lydia was 15 when they got married Coppola was clumsy there. She also gets the time difference...

It's painful to meet and connect with someone but because of unfortunate timing not be able to further explore what could have been. You just have to hope that someday you will meet a potential soulmate when you both are able to completely explore the possibilities. LIT has turned into one of those ...
