The Easter weekend is coming up and I think it may be an opportune time to revisit LIT again as a group. Are we keen to do a simulview? I've never done it before but perhaps some of the other non-virgins could clue me in on how this works exactly. What do we say, it it a good idea? :)

Thats the brilliance of this movie and why we love it I guess. You keep coming back for more and realise that it's message will speak to generations that follow. I haven't watched it in years and I think I've got the urge to see it again. (Do we still do simulviews? Easters coming up so how about on...

Hi Paul_UK, glad you got 'bitten' too. Sofia is something special and she gave us this gem to appreciate and share with others. Everyone involved in the making of the film and those running this forum (cheers Bob_san), seem to have something special in common. ...and both characters became each othe...

Really? Oh boy am I relieved to 'hear' you say that Bob_san. I've had to take a break from his books twice now. ha-ha. I'm such a wimp. Anyway, I'm following my own path and Murukami seems to have helped me along at the right time. Another reason why this forum is a good thing. I use a few tools but...

Aah so you're a writer. A challenging thing to write, I think. Are you finding it stimulating/enjoyable? I love it when things just pop into the mind. Cultivating that area & keeping the channel clear seems to be the trick, something I'm still trying to understand. And you seem to have a hold on...

Yeah, it's hard to dampen those expectations one gets. Can you imagine being Mr. Murakami and going to see a remake of your own creation? Let's hope he for one enjoys it for what it is. lol I think that going to teach abroad is an appealing idea for me too. I have a few friends who've did just that ...

Yeah? Well I liked the chicken dealing Colenel Sanders better anyway. I read something about the film being produced by some some big TV studio. I hope you enjoy it. I dont't think it'll ever screen in my country let alone have distribution. I don't really mind tho. Hey, would you happen to b...

Ja, seems his unobtrusive style is really effective. "I know when I read him I never want the story to end" Can you imagine how I felt after hitting the sudden end in Norwegian Wood ? Kafka is interesting. The way he's structured the chapters can be distracting and turn you off a bit but t...

Wow kudos to you on read all of his work. You must really be a fan huh? I really enjoyed Wind up Bird Chronicle for some reason & Hard Boiled was a surreal trip. But I've forgotten so much of what I've read already. It's funny coz when I finish a Murakami novel I feel like I've just lived a thou...

I took your cue TokyoGirl and read After Dark . I was surprised at the change in tone in this one. I thought it was a good read but I think I need to return to it again. I'm stalled on Kafka on the Shore - I often start reading then trail off forgetting to finish them. lol Let me know what you thoug...

Good reading, cheers Tonight I was thinking of rewatching Dreams (A. Kurosawa) and I realised that LIT makes visual reference to this film. - Charlotte's private witnessing of the weding at the temple alludes to (both thematically and in shot composition) the Wedding of the Foxes in Dreams ( http://...
