Hey, 52FM. Seeing as you've already prefaced your own topic with a bunch of warnings, I thought I'd throw one out for myself--I'm just a kid (i.e. I don't know nuthin'); I've never been married, or had to see people I love change over a course of years, decades, and personal eras. But, since this is...

I'm with you, Congruous. Not the best year for me, either. Here's hoping things turn around a bit.

To a New Year

It's been a while since I've been here, but it feels appropriate to return with good will and cheer at the commencement of 2007. Hope everyone had a wonderful holiday and a good New Year's, and that your wishes all come true for the next twelve months (yes, even the contradicting ones). Tell me, all...

Anyone care to read my screenplay?

So it's been an interesting summer for me, the highlight being that I entered my first couple of script competitions. I entered the Filmmakers.com International Screenwriting Competition and the American Gem short script Competition. It's really kinda scary, when I think about the fact that I'm just...

Oh, I love it. It's one of the most affirming movies I've ever seen. Even when I disagree with the philosophical content (or just plain don't understand it), it feels so overwhelmingly alive.

That said, I can understand why certain people don't like. I'm assuming you're a fan?

Hey, thanks, 52FM. Yeah, it seems to be a little less crowded than I remember, but it's nice that it's even still here.

Right now, a little Clash.

Recently, though, I've been listening to Scott Walker's "The Drift", the Futureheads, and the new Thom Yorke "solo" album.

Oh, and Just Like Honey, if I'm not mistaken, and that sig you have really is from Waking Life, then I give you a hearty high-five!

For Relaxing Times...

Wow, anybody remember me? I won't be at all upset if you don't, seeing as I was never a really frequent poster. I did spend many a night on IMDB, though, defending this film from the vicious backlash of quite a few critics... It feels like I'm coming back to a very different part of my life. I remem...

Thanks for the opinion.

I was thinking of seeing it. I like J.S. a lot, and he's in so few movies, I feel the need to patronize all of them as soon as they come out.

Could be.

Actually, it would be an interesting experiment to put together all the myriad girl laughs I've heard into one big swinging band.

That, or a scarring nightmare.

Oh, you bet it is, 52FM. I'll always love hearing a girl laugh at a joke I tell. It relieves stress like nothing else can. I even have to admit that I get uncomfortable when guys around me are making the girls laugh so much--I basically sit there and get very quiet. I don't know. I'm selfish, and ju...

That's more than special. I did a research project and essay for my sociology class on divorce rates in America and their contribution to the dissolving of families. Needless to say, it was a depressing project... I am lucky, in that, although my parents divorced while I was growing up, they were bo...

Good to be back, moviefan.

I've missed these forums. I was lurking a while back, and then I just stopped altogether.

This is the first I've seen of them in a while. Now I have to run the gamut of topics and add my thoughts to as many as I can.

See you around!

I don't believe so much in fate as I do in the fact that coincidence is often a little more than...coincidental, maybe? It's hard for me to describe. I don't think there is only one path in life for each person; I feel each and every one of us has the potential to strike out our own path. I do, howe...

I have a bunch of favorite love songs, but a few immediately spring to mind. They're a little unorthodox, but, oh well. The first is by one my favorite bands of all time. I can't imagine another career span that has produced so much verbal poetry. "With or Without You"- U2 "See the stone set in your...

Just Like Honey, make sure not to read my post, as I do spoil a good deal of it.

Yeah, it's pretty common. You can rent it at any Blockbuster or other chain, and I would even suggest a blind-buy of the double-disc DVD.

You should speak to my mother. My older brother is heading off to school in less than two weeks, and she's a wreck. She puts on a nice face, but I can tell she's heartbroken about the whole thing. Her worries are similar to yours, but, like you, she has raised him as well as any parent could hope to...
