Crossing the Frame

Hi all I saw this short film on The Playlist & thought I'd post it here. Here's the description: Empty space is a powerful mark of cinema. Lost in Translation is an exercise in segregating, converging and mirroring characters within the frame. and then The Playlist elaborates: In a video essay by Fa...

LIT study

I picked this up after seeing it referenced on the LIT Wikipedia entry https://images-na.ssl-images-amazon.com/images/I/41t3998EKZL._SX332_BO1,204,203,200_.jpg ...or was it on this board? I don't remember now, it's been such a while since I last thought about the movie. Anyway I'm back on a bit of a...

Re: LiT Ultimate Soundtrack (53tracks)

(copied from OP) I don't know how to put this into a table so hopefully I can still keep this tidy. This is sort of what I meant before. I'll have to add the times the tracks come on in the movie later. black - Original / Enhanced ST silver - Dialogue blue - Extra tracks not on any ST red - RARE mov...

Like I say, just my preference, it's your soundtrack :) Here's a version of Hito ni yasahiku. You might recognise it as a song a guy is playing in the arcade in one scene. I don't know if there's a way to get an mp3 out of it or not

A couple things. My preference is for the original performers, so that would mean the BB King version of The Thrill is Gone, the Nick Lowe version, and the Roxy Music version of More Than This. Not a big deal, just my preference. I kind of think Goodbye should be listed with the bonus tracks since a...

gaps in soundtrack page

In this page there are question marks & scenes not recognised: http://www.weareawake.org/litoundtrackinfo.htm I think I've filled in some of the blanks: - Bob improving japanese in pub & when they get chased with bb's are both the same track, She Gets Around, which in the credits is by TV Eyes. It w...

Coppola lists her influences for LiT in her Oscar acceptance speech: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Skit7AZtuw4 - Michelangelo Antonioni - Wong Kar-Wai - Bob Fosse - Jean-Luc Godard So there you have it. I've only seen one movie by only one of those writers but I could definitely see the influence t...

I know what I said earlier in this thread but Just Like Honey is the first track that really registered for me. So that would be another one. It was after only maybe my 2nd or 3rd-ever viewing years & ago. I guess I took it at face value, after the Tokyo trip she's going to take on the world, in wha...

...I'll pretend I don't know that  Maybe the angle had something to do with it, Bob looked straight down at her foot, while in the Tommib scene we look from the side. :P

I also really enjoy the shot of Charlotte looking out her hotel window over the Tokyo skyline as "Tommib" by Squarepusher is playing. There's something extremely peaceful about that moment even though we can readily understand Charlotte's feelings of alienation and isolation. I'm sure the calming s...

favourite track off the soundtrack

mine are tommib by squarepusher & goodbye by kevin shields (tracks 4 & 6).

also does anyone know where track 6 is in the movie? if it's in the movie at all it must be very faint, but i've watched tons of times & with the volume blasting (the ikebana track was very clear) & had no luck at all.
