What's the extra track on the Japanese soundtrack? "50 Floors Up"? Is that just the hidden karaoke track on the US CD?

Five years later, and this film can still make my heart ache

Whenever I watch this film, I can't help but think of the person that was with me when I first saw it, and whom I've since lost. For me, watching it is both sweet and sad, not unlike the film itself.

I think what I would rather do is put a link to my amazon affiliate account which people could then use to go through and when they buy something I would get a commission. I should put it on the front site page which I haven't and in a post. Definitely do that - I use Amazon for almost every purcha...

Bob_san, have you ever considered opening a Paypal account so that you can collect donations to help you pay for the site's hosting fees? I know I'd be happy to donate to keep the board going.

This place is like an internet version of the Tokyo Park Hyatt: people drift in and people drift out, but it will always be here for the travelers.

Looks fan-made. The font is completely different from all the other promotional material related to the film. It is very nice, though - that's a great still.

Great find! Though I'm a bit wary of reading a really in-depth critique of the film, as I'm afraid it may color the way I personally feel about it and what the film means to me.

"Tokyo Ga" By Wim Wenders

I saw a really interesting documentary by Wim Wenders ("Until the End of the World"). Wenders travels to Tokyo to do a film on his favorite film maker, Japanese director Yasujiro Uzo, but the movie soon shifts into being about Tokyo itself. It was made in 1983, and it imparts some of the same feelin...

I'm going to get a set of sheets, which are quite spendy. Here's a link to the TPH giftshop website where they sell all the linens: http://shop.parkhyatttokyo.com/en/shop/guest-room-amenities/ What's not listed but was mentioned in the email I received was the duvet and cover, which together cost ab...

Wow. They replied in under two hours in perfect, polite english with all the information I requested. Got to love the Japanese. Think I'd get the same service in the States? They actually sell the sheets as a set (sheets, duvet, duvet cover), and they gave me the name of the mattress company. No inf...

I want the LIT bed!

I've sent an email to the Tokyo Park Hyatt to find out who makes their beds. I'd like to get one for my home. I've stayed at the TPH, and their bed/mattress/linen combinations are really relaxing. They're low to the ground, making them almost futon-like.

I have never, nor will I ever, have a social network page. No myspace, facebook, twitter, etc. It just seems so indulgently self-centered and serves to foster superficial relationships. Also, I'm a very private person and have no desire to have the rest of the world know anything about me that I don...

Sorry about the delay! Arriving: So, as most of you know, the Tokyo Park Hyatt is hotel located on the top floors of an office building. As such, it has a separate entrance from that used by the building's other tenants. In the beginning of the film, we see Bob's limo pull up and park in a semi-circ...

Meet Ups For Viewing of LIT?

I wanted to see if there would be any interest in putting together a viewing party for board members. If we could get 5 or 10 folks together and watch the film, it might be a lot of fun. The first step would be determining where everyone lives, and the from there, we could start to organize groups o...

An introduction and thanks

I wanted to take a moment and introduce myself. My name is David and I actually joined the forum back in 2004, but didn't post much as I soon found myself occupied with life in general. Now, things have quieted down some and I've returned to the forum, pleased to see that its still up and running. I...
