Re: A Guide To the Best Lost in Translation Spots in Tokyo

Thank you for posting this. Although the sushi place and Air nightclub has closed, it's quite surprising how little has changed in 15 years. Welcome! We're still here, but I like to think the forum has moved from being a bustling conversation place to a quiet library of accumulated thoughts from the 11+ years it has been open. Pour yourself a whiskey (Suntory of course), you'll always be welcome.

Wow, how did I miss these? Great photos, they're so evocative! It seems like things haven't changed at all since the movie was made over ten years ago now.

I'm really surprised at the cost of flights also nowadays.

I'll have to watch it again, has whoever mixed the soundtrack literally looped the same call twice?

I believe they're rooks (I tend to mix them up with ravens), their call is very common around Kyoto and Tokyo.

I've always watched this film alone. I used to watch it late at night whilst drinking bourbon (this is nearly ten years ago or so). I suppose it would add to the jetlagged feeling. Nowadays I prefer to play it before the sun has fully risen. Usually by the time it finishes the skies are clear but th...

Bill Murray on Reddit

This has actually been publicised on a few news websites, but in case you haven't seen it Bill Murray did an AMA on Reddit recently:
