Re: 4K Release

It will be interesting to see how this turns out - was it in the making of documentary that Sofia remarks that her father pushed her to use film? I didn't notice that the blu ray was particularly poor but it seems there is some criticism online of the transfer.

Re: New LIT book: Lost in Translation (BFI Film Classics)

I have to admit I got this book on release and I haven't gotten around to reading it. It's definitely got my interest that there's some details that haven't even been discussed here! I'll most likely dip in and out too

Re: Play It Again Sam...er um...I mean Charlotte!!!

Thanks for keeping the site up Bob. I don't watch the film often, it might have been a couple of years since my last viewing now, but even 20 years later it's still a beautiful film for so many reasons. Like was said above, both the film and the site represent a different time in my life and it's ni...

For him, finally visiting Tokyo Disneyland and Universal Studios Japan! (Okay, that's for me, too! ) If anybody out t...

Re: Play It Again Sam...er um...I mean Charlotte!!!

I think maybe it's been a couple of years now since I've watched this film. It's a reminder of a different time in my life when I travelled to new places, often by myself for the adventure. I'm sure when I watch it again it'll bring memories back. I never got to watch this in the cinema - I was at t...

Re: A Guide To the Best Lost in Translation Spots in Tokyo

Thank you for posting this. Although the sushi place and Air nightclub has closed, it's quite surprising how little has changed in 15 years. Perhaps it's a result of the economic stagnation the economy is known for? I'm sure being in the film has been quite profitable for the Park Hyatt, and I would...

I think the song with Japanese lyrics is 'kaze wo atsumate' by happy end. Is goodbye by Kevin Shields?

Welcome! We're still here, but I like to think the forum has moved from being a bustling conversation place to a quiet library of accumulated thoughts from the 11+ years it has been open. Pour yourself a whiskey (Suntory of course), you'll always be welcome.

Wow, how did I miss these? Great photos, they're so evocative! It seems like things haven't changed at all since the movie was made over ten years ago now.

I'm really surprised at the cost of flights also nowadays.
