Re: Play It Again Sam...er um...I mean Charlotte!!!

Well, crikey I've logged this film on Letterboxd (great film website by the way) only 7 times but got to be getting closer to thirty or forty watches in reality. Hope all lit fans are doing well in Virus quarantine. Watched it with a close friend and she really enjoyed it. Roll on 20th anniversary o...

Watched it this evening ( UK GMT) I watched the blu ray and turned the brightness and contrast right down to see how much detail i could achieve. Some scenes previously ignored became enormously beautiful and hypnotic.

I've only watched this film twice this year... and it's not nearly enough!

Absolutely fantastic! Very professional and full sounding :) By far the best fan video of Lit on Youtube I've seen. I want to make some sort of video that expresses how much I love Lit but not sure what sort of form it will take quite yet. Thanks for sharing this :) sending over a bowl of peanuts. p...

Just listening to the Master (2012) soundtrack and it occurred to me that the film makes me feel like the 2nd or 3rd time i watched lost in translation. It's really beautiful, and the end is equally memorable. Anything Paul Thomas Anderson thinking about it. Here's a couple more I put in the same po...

Bit of Karaoke scene analysis

Has to do an essay on mise-en-scen for my film class so naturally I chose lost in translation. Not sure if this is interesting to anyone but here you go:

Although I love sometimes, girls and Tommib

I'm gonna have to go with kaze wo atsumete. When Charlie brown sings it in the background of the zebra wallpaper bit just gets me.

Its the perfect mix of familiar and foreign\exotic

I think I might have a Lost In Translation themed day for the 10th reunion. Enthusiastically eat my sushi breakfast. Go to a photo shoot and make jokes about Joy Bishop. See a guy reading Japanese manga on the bus. Go for an all fish lunch and switch to Biru (They all look the same!!) Go get my Toe ...

Which is your favorite? I like before sunset more. (Probably down to even that final line.)
Have you seen the newest since this post and does it hold up to the others?

I've never thought of it that way, I love that I'm still understanding things in new ways through different interpretations after so many watches! I think that you're idea is entirely plausible, but it would mean that Bob would have to be stuck in the airport or a traffic jam as he left in the morni...

fellow new person

Hello! It seems you have had a similar experience to me. I could only vaguely remember when this film came out through my siblings word of mouth. I finally watched it later in early 2012. It shocks me how real my reactions to this film are, how genuine my melancholy and optimism was. What a film. Si...
