Re: The Beguiled (2017)

I liked it. It was certainly more enjoyable than The Bling Ring, it reminded me a little of The Virgin Suicides.

Re: Five years later, and this film can still make my heart

Whenever I watch this film, I can't help but think of the person that was with me when I first saw it, and whom I've since lost. For me, watching it is both sweet and sad , not unlike the film itself. I tend to feel that more now, times are hard and the reality starts to kick in that dreams that yo...

Re: Just Watched LIT Again!

I re-watched it last night for the first time in four years. I'm still absolutely in love with it.
I've watched hundreds of films since the first time I saw Lost in Translation and nothing else comes close to warm melancholy and beauty of LiT.

I watched this a couple of days ago. It was pretty good, a little bit silly.

I was really hoping Scarlett Johansson was going to make an appearance though...

£300  yeah think that's out my price range for now... Can you just visit the hotel bar from the movie though if you are not a guest? Maybe that would be a better option. I too live in UK so I know you can fly direct from London for around £500-600. As you said I'm sure there's much cheaper h...

Great pictures! I too would like to Visit Tokyo someday, I might just have to travel there alone as I am not sure too many people would want to go. Not sure I would be able to afford staying at the Park Hyatt hotel though, how much is it a night? I was in the same boat; i.e. wanting to visit Japan ...

A few LIT-related photos from my recent trip to Japan..

I was fortunate enough visit Tokyo earlier this month for a week and stayed at the Park Hyatt Tokyo (because much of my favourite film was shot there!). Here are a few pics of LIT locations: The exterior of the hotel, (thankfully both the interior and exterior still look much the same as in the film...

As others have said - the entire soundtrack is perfect.

For me though, the Lost in Kyoto segment is probably the most beautiful thing I have ever seen.

I first watched this film in August 2007 and nothing since has come close to having the same impact on me. It simply is perfection.

I recommend ‘Out of Sight’. It is a bit more of a thriller than many of the other films listed here but don’t let that put you off it; the central premise is a bank robber falling in love with a police officer (yes I know how cheesy that sounds), though similarly to LIT it is ultimately about two pe...
