For me, the Thai movie Last Life in the Universe is a must see film. There's also a disconnected loneliness in both main characters. It's a different film in regards to presentation and plot. Actually Pitman, I don't think the film ends ambiguously. It's pretty clear with the bag and t-bear shot that he has returned to Japan for her. *spoiler alert* Well now, that's what we are led to believe.
