I love the way Sometimes comes in on the taxi ride home from Karaoke. Such a perfect union of sound and vision. It's perfect. Also, the whole Kyoto sequence with Air's music Alone in Kyoto is again...perfect.

I like Claire Danes and think that she would have made a better Charlotte for LiT (for me).

Otherwise, in the short whisper scene, I don't see how Bob and Charlotte would have arranged to contact each other later on in the States without their spouses getting involved. The whisper was some sort of farewell and closure. To say that he loved her, would have given Charlotte false hope of a f...

Cool webpage. On the other hand, I don't see Bob mentioning Charlotte's husband in the end scene. I mean, why would Charlotte want some obvious advice regarding sharing feelings with the old man? Would that make her shine the way she did? No. I don't think so. Charlotte's a bright girl, she could ha...

Tadanobu also stars in the very violent flick Ichi The Killer. Interestingly enough, the director of that movie, Takashi Miike, has a cameo in Last Life, and there is a poster for Ichi in the library as well.

Last Life in the Universe

http://img183.imageshack.us/img183/1079/lastlifeintheuniverseoe8.jpg Has anyone here seen this gem of a movie? From Thailand, directed by Pen-Ek Ratanaruang, starring Tadanobu Asano (Japan's Johnny Depp). Two people are drawn together through circumstances beyond their control. The ending is ambigu...

No doubt, the physical words spoken by Bill have little, if nothing to do with what the character, Bob, in the story was meant to have said to Charlotte. I'm not so concerned with what the actor Bill Murray may have said physically because like what 52FM said, I have read the same articles about the...

Tombo, I have to agree with you. If you look at it logically...Charlotte had found someone she could really talk to about things...she was visibly upset about Bob sleeping with Sausolito...down in the hotel lobby it was clear that Charlotte was waiting to hear something from Bob...he didn't oblige h...

Ahh, but what's a story without a little plot conflict? I think it serves to test their relationship. Without this situation with Sausolito, there wouldn't have been the wonderful scene in the New York bar as they spent their last night together. And I think this also serves to add a little umph to ...

Bren I know what you mean. But sometimes you just can't help but notice these inconsistencies, especially after multiple viewings. Like when Bob puts Charlotte to bed after karaoke, and her midrift is showing, shot to Bob, then back to Charlotte, and the shirt is pulled down now. They are minor, but...
