This is very cool.

What is intriguing about it is that the summary and reported dialogue from the film isn't always what we see in the final cut.

There's definitely a slightly different take on things with this book.

I find I've moved from a near-compulsion to watch it every day at the beginning, to once every few days to watch it when I'm in the mood. This will probably become more infrequent, and yet the feeling never goes away. At least some things do last forever. :)

I don't think it would be too much of a stretch to assume that she either didn't know who he was, or didn't care who he was. The fact that the movie didn't explain everything is one of the reasons I love it so much. It's nice to come up with your own theory as to why she didn't ask him about his mo...

Scenes in LIT you skip or FF through

Although I'm completely captivated by this movie, I have to confess that I don't watch the virtual golf scene at all any more. I started FFing it after the 3rd viewing. I guess this may have had a point in overall film if you see it once, but it lacks something afterwards.

I checked out youtube. That Coldplay version was really good. Congrats. Good song choice with some nice cutting.

I think that's great when a movie can inspire you to be creative or to think differently. Art leads to action. (and possibly more art) That's the way it should be.

Which viewing of LIT was your favourite?

Pitman has brought up a good point: not all of our viewings of LIT are equally powerful and enjoyable. The first one is memorable for obvious reasons, and yet perhaps it is the second or third time that the deeper resonances of the film really make an emotional impact. I think it was that way for me...

Right on.

That is the great thing about this movie. It stays with you. It makes you think about your life in a new way. Hopefully we have all learned something from it.

Good points, all. On the question of talking a better game, I wonder if part of Bob was looking for the best side of marriage and kids to tell Charlotte. He was protecting her, trying to give her the best version of his life, or of any grown up life. So it's back to the theme of Bob as wiser, older ...

Maybe and old Bill would be part of the story. If the guy is pushing 65 then he can really play the wise old man to Charlotte's pain. All platonic. The dramatic possibilities are endless.

I would love to see a sequel. Of course, it couldn't be cheesy or bad or disappointing. But why would it? Sofia would be directing -- she's got it going on. The one problem is that the Sunrise/Sunset has sort of already done it, so that would make it harder for a creative and original artist like So...

Yes, I think that is most likely.

But then it's a bit odd that she never conveys this either to the audience/camera or to him. As far as developing their friendship, I think this may have endeared her to Bob.

When does Charlotte notice that Bob is a movie star?

One thing that puzzled me from the first time I saw LIT was why Charlotte never appears to notice or comment on the fact that Bob is this big movie star. Unless I am missing something, this is a flaw in the script. If she has heard of him, then at some point she would have to acknowledge it. Like wh...

Thanks to Ben-B for posting the stuff from the script. I think it's fairly clear that the filmmakers intended for them to never seen each other again. I understand why they did it that way. And yet, the ambiguity of the ending makes us wonder. Certainly a good number of fans of the film thought othe...

This seems to be the thread for newcomers to the LIT sickness to come clean. So here I am -- maybe a bit a late for the party but so be it. I received the 'punch in the stomach' last week and this film has occupied a lot of my time ever since. I teared up the first two times. I don't know why it too...
