For some reason, I don't think I've seen the end of "Rear Window."

Also, I don't feel that Jimmy Stewart was too old for his role in Rear Window; I think his pairing with Grace Kelly (a Hitchcock favorite to say the least) given their respective ages was in perfect accord with the narrative of the film. It was a pleasure to see two such great actors together in a ...

Comparing "Roman Holiday" with "LiT"

Did Sophia Coppola see "Roman Holiday?" I've been a big Gregory Peck fan since I was a kid, but everything I watched with him in it featured him in one of his he-man, war movie roles. I recently read a biography of Audrey Hepburn, which gave a pretty detailed account of the making of "Roman Holiday....

Someone correct me if I'm wrong here, but wasn't Harvey Keitel originally supposed to play Willard? It seems that he had some kind of breakdown, so they brought in Sheen.

There was a short article in the latest Rolling Stone about the Jesus and Mary Chain. They had played a show at the Coachella festival where Scarlett had sung with them on "Just Like Honey." Two of the guys in the band, Jim and William Reid, were sitting out by their hotel pool being interviewed by ...

I enjoyed reading 52's post. I have never listened to them a lot, so almost anytime I do sit down and you-tube a few of their songs, or pop on a cd, I listen to the end. You do have to be in a certain frame of mind to take on The End. I like "Strange Days," "Moonlight Ride," "Unknown Soldier," and ...

When I was a kid and I listened to the Doors a lot, I avoided "The End" and "When the Music's Over" because they were so long and I felt that Morrison was getting sort of lost in himself and I didn't want to follow. The lyrics are interesting and the music is well-played, but I much preferred the sh...

I know that the Jesus and Mary Chain have several CDs. They recently played at the Coachella Festival and Scarlett sang with them on "Just Like Honey." It didn't sound very good, but it was interesting to watch. There are some clips of it at YouTube.

This one is a little tongue in cheek: "What a Woman!" by Chester Burnett, aka Howlin' Wolf I'm gonna leave you woman, before I commit a crime I'm gonna leave you woman, before I commit a crime You tried so hard to kill me, woman it just was not my time You put poison in my coffee, instead of milk or...

I actually just wrote a final paper for my film class on Ghost World--specifically on the different modes of artistry represented in the film and their uses. I'm sure it is an interesting paper. It was obvious that art meant a lot to several people in the movie. - It was fascinating to watch Enid, ...

Learning the content of the whisper never meant much to me. I think it is interesting that it has such a legendary place in the movie. If the movie had not been so good I might have wanted to know what Bob said, but the ending is so good that the whisper is small potatoes to me.

I have a hard time grasping just how huge that city really is. I grew up in a large city and I've been to London, Paris, Rome, Berlin and New York, but when I see shots of Tokyo, it just looks vast.

I just saw this last night. I didn't love it, but it wasn't awful, either. Anderson's quirkiness gets to be a little forced after a while.
