Re: What Did He Whisper
It's posted here before, but here's the site to listen to what Bob said to Charlotte. Hear here  : http://members.optusnet.com.au/bruisedchickpea/lit.wav I won't spoil it so you can listen yourself if you choose. Also go read the LIT script draft sometime. If you think the subtitles don't match...

re: Everything Seems Trivial and Meaningless
Yes, join the club :) This movie did indeed generate an intensity of feelings from moviegoers, and it reflects why almost a year after the LIT release why individuals are seeking internet boards like this to discuss LIT and their feelings. When I first saw this movie, I, too, left feeling disoriente...

Story Info about the Pianist from the Group, "Sausalito
Ran across this story about the pianist from the group "the Sausalito" in LIT. http://www.fdubois.com/en/dubois.html The pianist's name is Francois du Bois. He's a French composer and the marimba player whose own musical exploration leads him to Toyko. Interesting story...so I thought I share...PLUS...

Are You Successful Yet??
Bear with me...this post isn't Bill-related, but I wanted to share this, and get fellow board member thoughts. Bill Murray seems to have ideas on success not in line with what Hollywood expects, so I think my post is appropriate discussion. Today, I had an interesting email from my supervisor. I am ...

Re: Lip My Stocking!!!!!!
That scene was painfully funny!! The woman is a "call girl" hired by the Suntory company to service Bob Harris. She was paid to give him a "premium fantasy" night of "rough or rowdy sex" which the Japanese hosts thought American men desired or perhaps, what they perceived Bob Harris wanted (perhaps ...

Re: What Didn't Happen
I agree... LIT was filmed so simply and lovingly...and it's why posters still discuss it 10 months after its release. Bill and Scarlett's performance was incredible, and I really felt they both deserved Oscars...at least, the BAFTAs recognized them. http://img78.photobucket.com/albums/v259/phillygal...

Oscar Watch for 2004 Movies
Halfway to the Oscars :!: , and already there's buzz (www.oscarwatch.com) of another Best Actor nomination for Bill for 'The Life Aquatic"; and Best Picture and Best Original Screenplay for Wes Anderson for 'The Life Aquatic". And the trailers aren't even released yet :!: Warms the heart that there ...

Which LIT Character Embodies You??
Many have seen LIT more times than we can count. We know the lines, and we know the characters. So which character(s) embodies you? I'd have to say that I personally embody a mix of the characters. I've been married for awhile and have children so I relate to Bob Harris' character. I also work full-...

Who were they polling  :?: The GOOD NEWS is that Comedy Central got it right with their Top 51 Funniest People - Bill received the #1 HONOR 8) :!: E! al...

Japanese LIT WEB Site
Found this info on the IMDB. The Japense soundtrack version of LIT includes a postcard with a "secret" web site. I checked it out. It's in Japanese (better get Bill Murray's 'Making Love in Japanese" book for translation help :P ) It has lots of pix, fan offers, and links (more in Japanese). http://...

Re: The Nod
Sorry, I haven't dropped my DVD back in my recorder to watch the elevator scene again. I'll take your word Bob nodded. Perhaps Charlotte was just tired, and missed Bob's nod cues  (LOL - just another LIT communication!) As a woman, I guess I'd be upset too that Bob only "comes clean" an...

LIT Moments
Boards like this are like LIT moments. I'm married, have three children and work full-time, but I still enjoy meeting kindred spirits to talk about life, shared interests, state of the world, and most anything. I do it in my life too. Each day is like a present, you never know who you'll meet so I t...

Re: "Falling in Love"
Robert DeNiro and Meryl Streep gave terrific subdued performances in their scenes together. Their developing friendship into love moves along slowly like LIT. Streep and Deniro were more closely matched age-wise; each struggling with the knowledge that they were married; yet once they met, they reco...

Re: If You Like LIT, You Might Like...
I was flipping channels today, and came across this sweet movie with Robert DeNiro and Meryl Streep called "Falling in Love". It looked like it was filmed in the early 80s. Checked IMDB and it's from 1984. I can't help to think that Sofia somehow hadn't seen this movie, and it gave her some bit of i...

Re; The Nod
I'm not sure what you mean by the nods. Will I have to pull out my DVD and watch this scene (not that I don't mind watching LIT)? What I do remember from the bar scene is Bob finally verbally expressing to Charlotte how he feels about her. Up to the bar scene, he was evasive verbally about them. The...

Re: Scarlett Johansson Poll
I think Sofia and Bill developed a friendship as a result of LIT. As a result of her casting Bill in the Bob Harris role, I believe Hollywood is paying more attention to his underappreciated talents. Wes Anderson saw his abilities too when he cast him in "Rushmore", TRT, and soon to be released TLA....

Re: What Were They Saying...
You're probably waiting on Jeanie's answer, but if you don't mind, my thoughts are Bob doesn't think about Charlotte for the rest of his life " in a pining way" for the rest of his life. Do you remember Bob's expression when he returned to the taxi after his last encounter with Charlotte? It was a r...
