"What about marriage? Does that get easier?" That's a heart-wrenching moment when she says that.

I like to wait until I'm in the mood for it because it makes for a more poignant experience. However, since I watched it back in October I don't think there's been a day I haven't thought about the relationship Bob and Charlotte have, and what might happen after they part.

The two films that I found hold the most similarity to LiT is "The Breakfast Club" and "Good Will Hunting".

You have to be in the right mood for Lost in Translation. I don't watch it as frequently as some (though I very often think about their relationship), but when I do it's like I'm rediscovering the film and it all seems extremely poignant. Whilst I'm writing this message, I thought I'd point out some...

The subtitles state the whisper in the ear as "inaudible". The sound team would've made sure the viewer wouldn't hear what Bob says to Charlotte. There have been countless posts saying that if you turn the sound up to full volume you can hear what Bob says, but in truth no one knows what Bob says to...

Same here. If the film was released now and it was showing at the cinema, I would've definately gone and seen it. It's just because when it was released I wasn't as big a film fan as I am now. I yearn to see it in a theatre now.

Lost in Translation, the sequel

I've read on these and the IMDB boards that some people would like to see a Lost in Translation sequel. If a sequel was ever released, I'd be very, very upset. A sequel would never live up to the original because everyone has a different opinion over where Bob and Charlotte go next. A sequel couldn'...

In a fancy dress shop perhaps. I'm sure they're not very difficult to find...unlike that damn owl I've been trying to get for yonks.

My name's Tom, I'm also 18 from Gloucester in the UK. I consider Lost in Translation to be the finest film ever made since it makes films like When Harry Met Sally and Notting Hill look like complete and utter trite. The banality of these films draws in the punters (for example "Hitch") but fail to ...

I live in England and the show did start off over here. We have so many reality TV shows over here - "I'm a celebrity - get me out of here", "Big Brother", "Pop Idol", "Pop Stars" etc.

Why is the bed scene infamous?

The quote you've just mentioned is probably my favourite too. I particularly like the line Bob whispers to Charlotte at the end...I can hear it if I turn the sound right up...ha ha ha.

As did Bob's voice in that scene.

The subject of singers in LiT is so sparse that I think you've just bled the conversation dry before it even began.

If you like the film so much, buy a copy where the extra features are included. I've bought a Lost in Translation photobook that cost me $35 and am considering buying the owl toy that appears in LiT for $130.

However much I like Bill Murray, Groundhog Day frustrates me. I think it's seriously overrated.
