Check out "Brief Encounter" as well. It's an excellent British film made in the 40's directed by David Lean (or Lawrence of Arabia fame).

What's the make and model of Charlotte's headphones?

Does anyone know what headphones Charlotte wears in the film? I found out what they were once but I can't find the site I saw it on. Can anyone help?

Willing to pay £50 for the owl!

I'm sure everyone on the board knows about the illusive owl that Bob gives to Charlotte at the hospital in Lost in Translation. You may also know that the only way to get it is from the very shop that Bill Murray buys it from. I've tracked down the website but need somebody who knows Japanese so tha...

Yes, the film is good. I liked Bill Nighy in Love Actually and he didn't disappoint in this film. He plays the jaded, often awkward character extremely well. Since the film is about the two characters going to a G8 summit in Reykjavic, Iceland, it's basically a message to the 8 leaders who are meeti...

"If Sofia wasn't related to a well-known director, this turd would've never been released." "Anyone who liked this film is a moran and doesn't know anyt...

Your points sound strangely familiar. Did you copy and paste or write them yourself because I'm sure I've read those points somewhere else.

I saw it when it was premiered on ITV in the UK. There are lots of similarities to Lost in Translation and there are some scenes where the director has lifted frames from LiT and put it straight into the film. I pointed these shots out to my mum as we were watching it - the reflection of the young g...

The following is not a mistake but something that is hard to believe: When Bob and Charlotte first talk at the bar, Charlotte says: "So what are you doing here?" She emphasises 'you' which implies that she's acknowledged that she knows who he is, or at least that's how I interpret it. However, later...

In an interview she says she idolises Meryl Streep so hopefully Scarlett will follow in her footsteps and have some challenging roles.

She looks very lovely there. I call it "the natural look". I don't like it when she's caked in make-up.

I disagree. I think the whisper adds to the power of the final scene.

Those who really "get" the film don't ask these questions; they accept that whatever was said was between them....though it's still fun to guess!

I thought Magnolia was a bit too ambitious and stumbled at the very last hurdle. It doesn't have the amount of power LiT has.
