Speaking of Miles...does he only post at "Lost in Translation?" Imdb is a huge site; surely he's interested in more than one movie. I've had him on "Ignore" for a month or so, so I haven't seen any of his blather.

"Twister" plays out that way, although the two characters don't have children, and the relationship isn't the most important part of the movie. "Hannah and Her Sisters" shows the intense relationship between Caine and Farrow's characters.

I saw a long clip on ESPN on Sunday and it reminded me of the last "Matrix." I do wish Scarlett would ditch the blonde look, but I'm probably in the minority.

Cruise has totally lost touch with reality. Did you see him with Matt Lauer: "You don't know the history of psychiatry...I do." Huh?

"I wanted/expected to like this film."

When I was a kid and my parents dropped us off at the theater, I always expected to be entertained. In my self-centered little world, I felt it was owed to me. Usually I had a great time. The only time I was disappointed was when my parents or my older sister would go and we would watch something th...

How to succeed at the imdB boards

I started visiting the imdB boards a few months ago, and mostly I've enjoyed browsing reviews of various movies. In terms of survival, I've learned one thing: never admit to liking a movie...it's politically incorrect. If you really want to fit in and be one of the boys, here are some clever posting...

You know they said in "Animal House:" "Don't get mad, get even!" No, I'm kidding.

Sorry to hear you're low. Can you get some exercise? That stirs things up. Just take a walk. Get out of the house.

As we grow older and (hopefully) mature, we develop modes of expression for different situations. Normally, in the sort of situation we're discussing now, we'd tell the other person how much we enjoyed being with him/her and try to work out a way to see more of each other. But this situation has an ...

"I think LiT actually taps into a much larger, and much more common void; the feeling you have when someone important to you is gone from your life forever, and you don't get the opportunity to properly say goodbye to them." This is a great point, yet I see it the opposite way. To me, it's not sad, ...

I may sound like a bonehead, but to me the movie has a triumphant feel to it at the end. The only other movie that has given me such a jolt is "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest," when Chief pulled that thing out of the floor and bashed it through the wall and that eerie music was playing. That made m...

I'm a 52 year old male bum, living in Atlanta, Georgia, USA. I went to college (UGA) for seven years and still never graduated (thus the "bum" title). I'm old enough to have seen Bill Murray's first SNL appearance. I posted at this site a number of times as a guest after I saw "LIT" but didn't join ...
