" getting Lit "
I commented on this in an earlier post ...and several people here have hit on it too.. I think it was in large part due to bad promotion ...It WAS billed as " the comedy of the year " etc etc..and those in cohoots with Focus didnt seem ready for the enthusiasm for LIT out of the festival market..so ...

in the theatre
I saw LIT on a rainy afternoon in a 100 seater locally that mostly airs independant or art films....Its great..movie and snacks for under $ 10! and the owner gets up and talks about the screening before the film...Was mostly an older audience..well the opening shot came on and some lady in back says...

rentals of LIT
I think when LIT was released on DVD and people rushed to get it and then didnt " get it " en mass....it was due in part to the promotion of the release. Even when it was in theatres ( mainstream release ) I saw ad after ad saying " side splitting comedy " or " best comedy of year " along with endle...

It wasnt a sweeping statement..of course I dont think they are all morons..but the ones that rant on and on ..You just read hate and irrationality in the posts..Thats why I stopped reading imdb user posts..I d rather go where the feelings are understood rather than attacked. i think what's sadder is...

I do some autograph collecting and yes I was so moved by LIT I wrote to Sophia at 3 different addresses known for her...None of my letters were answered.....Not sure she ever sees them..hard to say with any accuracy. I know that many of the LIT autographs you see on Ebay are not authentic...Sad how ...
