Very philosophical, silentguest! I first came across that mythological tale a few years ago, during an especially long analysis of "Star Wars: Episode II - Attack Of The Clones" (all the prequels are very underrated, by the way). Anyway, I think I'll add a philosophical nugget of my own. Well, not l...

Cryogenic, we can even add another to that great list of contrasts you started: Those who photograph (John explicitly--his photography work drawing him away from his wife--and Charlotte herself, at least previously--"you know...horses, dumb pictures of your feet") and those who are photographed (Bo...

LOL @ LostCalls! Thank you for the contributions, guys. This place is so quiet, but a few are still managing to whisper. :D OK, I've rambled. In the words of Nat King Cole: ramble on, ramble on ... ! Some very provocative thoughts. "Fear of depthlessness" is an interesting concept. At this point in ...

Charlotte doesn't give Bob a time, either.

Yes!!! 8) 8) 8) I can already hear the haters lining up. Chateau Marmont. Hollywood. LA. Rich folk. Lives of excess. Yes, they're sharpening their knives, as we speak. But we know better. I can't wait! Should be an interesting project. And will it mark the move away from her "trilogy" of "young, ins...

Lovely input, Ben-B! My favourite bit: So the image is a bit of a tease really. Our minds flit between these thoughts as we enter a kind of celluloid dream world. We are ushered hush-hush into a dream-like state, where our dreams, romantic fatasies and memories all converge towards a very personal e...

Sorry, guys. I kinda flaked on this. The turn-out has been a little disappointing. But I think we have a contingent of members that want to contribute, right? I'm putting up Chapter 2 in the next 24 hours. Chapter 3 isn't too far behind. I will definitely post the chapters with regularity, from here...

...what cool synopsis...all of this has got me thinking about the film in a much more profound way,and in a totally new light. Well, now, Tombo ... That's what this Chapter By Chapter thing is all about! You've gladdened my heart to hear you say that! And this thing can just go on and on and on. It...

I just got the HD DVD version the other day (specifically picked up the player for this title). The menu/interface differs considerably from any other version in that the main menu consists of a standard Universal HDDVD interface with a montage of various clips from the movie playing in the centre ...

Get posting in the new "Chapter By Chapter" forum! Plenty of discussion potential in there. I've created it for that reason. But not many people are biting. Interesting comment ... when you said ... you're a person that "thrives on feelings of nostalgia". I'm a bit like that, myself. I haven't had a...

I've never been to the Electric. Keep meaning and meaning to go!

I'm at Cineworld and AMC a fair bit, though. 8)

I just bought a copy of the sountrack CD with picture book -- for (inl. shipping) $114.99 USD.

Ironically, because I live in England, and because of the exchange rate right now, that's barely any cheaper than the price in the thread title for just over half a year ago. Yowza!

To feel those "Lost In Translation" feelings that I get from the movie. Not quite happiness, not quite sadne...
