Re: Play It Again Sam...er um...I mean Charlotte!!!

Thanks Bob_san for keeping up this site. It's both a sanctuary and a time machine. Wow, 20 year anniversary coming up? Definitely hope we can do something here, like I think in the past many years ago you guys had group viewing parties or something like that online?

Re: Insomniac Episode: "Sloshed In Translation"

Yeah, I just checked recently and it has been taking down along with all the other Insomniac episodes that that user put up. I actually downloaded it to my laptop as soon as I saw it go up months ago. Now, if I can only find some other (non-youtube) platform to upload it for you all.... But boy do I...

Re: Play It Again Sam...er um...I mean Charlotte!!!

Welcome Back! In looking over my history here, I see that I actually disovered/joined this group in 2016, so many, many years after the movie came out. And though I never lived in Japan and never travelled there until 2016 (hence joining this group), my history with the movie goes way back to when i...

Re: Park Hyatt Room Number?

Hopefully you can also visit the other places in the movie too. I know there are a bunch other old threads on this site with people documenting their own pilgrimages and visiting all the filming locations but I never get tired of seeing such posts. I know the film is now 20 years old so probably som...

Re: Park Hyatt Room Number?

All the best to you and your journey to live out your Lost In Translation experience!! I made my pilgrimage in 2016, took a small group tour that started and ended in Tokyo, after that my wife and stayed 4 nights at the Park Hyatt. Though it was just one of the regular rooms, to have watched the mov...

Insomniac Episode: "Sloshed In Translation"

こんにちは みんな様! I've previously shared somewhere within these forums what a fan I am of an old early 2000's show called "Insomniac with Dave Attel" hosted by comedian Dave Attell (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Insomniac_with_Dave_Attell). Each episode features him visiting a different city at night and...

Re: Bob's watch

You're in luck....because just as there is this specials forum, this special place, for us LiT fans, you can be sure there are forums/places for watch enthusiasts. In this case the watch is a Rolex and here's a link to a thread from a Rolex forum that discusses Bob's watch: https://www.rolexforums.c...

Re: Just Like Honey | Coachella 2007

Nice! Love this song, never heard of it nor the band prior to this movie though. In particular, love the way they used it in the movie. The ending could have ended with something kind of melancholy, dramatic, such as an sad orchestral theme, due to the bitter sweet parting of the characters, but ins...

Re: Sushi place in Daikanyama closed.

The first and only time I went to Tokyo (in 2016), I didn't attempt to go to all the places seen in the movie. My only claim to fame was being able to stay at the Park Hyatt....where of course, most of the movie was set. I did have a picture taken of me stepping out of the elevator, after the same s...

I feel like I’m walking through the ruins of an old city of “my people”, and here stands a partially built cathedral. It is wonderful to see, but also a bit upsetting that the city has ceased.
sounds like it's time to rebuild! :D

Re: On the Rocks - Sofia Coppola film starring Bill Murray

This is fantastic! And no, it's not a "sequel" or anything of the sort, for LIT as much as I know we all fantasize about and LIT sequel or something to do w/ LIT.....and of course, sequels have a tendency to do more harm than good.....BUT, it's 'ol Bill and Sophia Coppola, and that's something to lo...

The early 2000's were a great time indeed....along a similar vein as LIT, I was and still am, a HUGE fan of Dave Attell's "Insomniac" which aired on Comedy Central. For those of you who don't remember it or never heard of it, the show featured comedian Dave Attell visiting a different city each epis...

Well, crikey I've logged this film on Letterboxd (great film website by the way) only 7 times but got to be getting closer to thirty or forty watches in reality. Hope all lit fans are doing well in Virus quarantine. Watched it with a close friend and she really enjoyed it. Roll on 20th anniversary ...

It's a long shot but I'm preparing for it anyway. We like to travel in the fall as it is best weather in most parts of the w...
