Re: Park Hyatt Tokyo 25th Anniversary video featuring Sofia Coppola
This is absolutely fantastic! Thanks for sharing...however did you find this? We had the great fortune of staying there for four nights in the fall of 2016 and it was every bit as elegant and fantastic as it appeared in the movie. There is just such a rich timeless style to it. Even in 2016 everythi...

Re:
Lots of things happened since 2004. I got married, my daughter is now 1 year and two months. I guess my life has been upgraded, I'm now a family man! :) Excellent, congrats! My daughter is now 2 3/4's years old. Our life as we knew it is gone, but now in a way we have an even better one, and they l...

Re: the Introduce Yourself thread
I have not seen Jon Favreau's and Vince Vaughn's Swingers , but my interest is piqued! I'll have to see if it's available at the library soon ... :) Oh I've got a number of really off the beaten track cult hits I can recommend. Some are SO bad that I'd be embarrassed to mention their names anywhere...

Re: "Suntory Time" scene in Japanese?
Wow, thanks preciouswhile! From what little Japanese I can currently read it looks like it's an article on the movie and yes it does contain some of that dialogue (but not all) as well as some other dialogue and since it's a Japanese article intended for Japanese readers, the English dialogue has be...

Re: Your LiT Traditions.
The last time I watched it from start to finish (and not as background music) was during our first trip to Japan in 2016, on our last night in the Park Hyatt Tokyo, my wife and I ordered room service and watched it over our meal, in our room, against the backdrop of the brilliant and haunting Tokyo...

Re: Your LiT Traditions.
I haven't watched it in its entirety for a while now. Mostly I'll just watch scenes, or play it in the background like music as I'm doing something else. It's not a long movie (I wish it was even longer) and like a fine whiskey or other spirit, you drink it sparingly so as not to use it all up at on...

"Suntory Time" scene in Japanese?
So, I've been taking Japanese language classes for the past couple of years now, slowly learning to speak, read, write. I've always found the Suntory Time scene hilarious, not just Kawasaki-San's minimalist translations, but the director's ferocious attitude. There are translations of his marching o...

Re: the Introduce Yourself thread
<3 Many people I encounter offline dismiss the film as being "boring" or "weird," so there is a real comfort here among fellow fans! Yes, most people I've known think this movie is incredibly lame and boring. I think with all art or forms of artistic expression, it's highly subjective on the part o...

Greetings Fellow Fans!
Greetings Fellow Fans! This is my first post here and I’m a bit late in sharing my experience at the Park Hyatt Tokyo as it was already a couple of years back (Nov. 2016). I have been a fan of LiT since I first watched the film ages ago. It was this movie that fueled my desire to visit Japan one day...
