It was so-so overall. Of course Scarlett looked great.
I just saw this for the first time the other day. Not to be a wet blanket, but I thought the movie was embarrassingly bad (I stopped watching at 1 45 and went back to finish the next day) and Scarlett looked terrible. She looks like Britney Spears with all that makeup on, which she doesn't need, because she's gorgeous. Anyway.

Which of the 10 or so chase scenes do you mean?
I'd rather be a gear in a big, deterministic, physical machine than just some random swerving.

Iron Man
I only knew the basics from reading a few of the comics but I liked it.

Wall•E was fantastic; I'd highly recommend it to anyone, but I feel that LiT-Lovers could especially appreciate this film's subtlety (in parts) and the pervasive silences. I have more to say on this, but I'd be interested to hear others' thoughts if it's been seen.
Also, I recently saw Paris Je t'Aime...which was uneven (by design) but had a handful of rather poignant moments--also worth a viewing, I'd say.
Hope all are well!

I love your reviews, Tombo. Short and sweet!
I recently saw
Avatar. I agree with most reviewers; it's an epic retelling of Walt Disney's
Pocahontas, and it's all spectacle ... but still a pretty incredible experience. I was tremendously skeptical to see it in 3D, but it really enhances it, especially with the ash and flora fluttering around in the foreground ...

I agree, it was a nice surprise to see 3d used to enhance a movie and not as a gimmick.
To everyone who has not seen Avatar or is going to see it a second time, I'd suggest finding an IMAX. I found the film had better resolution, sound and the 3d effect was even more pronounced in the IMAX format.

Puss in Boots: The Last Wish.
It might get overlooked because it's animated (I'd argue that animation is a medium and not a genre), but it's a beautifully crafted, acted, and animated film with a
lot of heart. 10/10, I'd highly recommend it.

Saw that new Puss in Boots too and really enjoyed it!
Also saw the new Avatar (just a few posts back people talking about the original Avatar wow time flies!) in Imax 3D and enjoyed it also.
And last weekend Guardians of the Galaxy III!

Elemental, two weeks ago. Story is very cleverly told.
