The hell it does, Mr Spock! I love it, though I guess it does kinda show when they get *real* actors in for stuff. So dear old Mr. Molina rather shows up Iggy Pop. And the White Stripes? Bleh. Tom Waits was good though. At first it was the sort of film that I thought should defy negative criticism, so brilliant was the premise and classy black-and-white shooting. Now I recognise that it's kinda self-indulgent and sometimes maybe not brilliant (that Renee scene? It just has a pretty lady not doing stuff). I also kid myself that there's loads of depth in all the repeated gestures and stuff, but secretly I'm not sure there is. Anyways, I liked it too much by the point I realised all that for it to affect me much, and I reckon the moments of brilliance outweigh it's downfalls. And that last scene has some sort of undefined but profound effect on me every time.

I thought Bill's scene was hilarious as well as the scene with the White Stripes.

Regardless.. it was an ok movie, I agree with the self indulgent comment. It's hardly groundbreaking or anything; some funny moments none the less.

Finally watched this movie. I would say that Bill Murray's skit with GZA and RZA is the one I liked the least, but some of the others are good. Particularly the Tom Waits/Iggy Pop and the Alfred Molina/Steve Coogan conversations.

Worth a watch, but I wouldn't expect anything fantastic out of it.

i saw this a while back, i have to say it was a bit scattershot, and apart from the cate blanchett and steve coogan/alfred molina segments, i wasnt overly impressed....not bad tho
