GOING TO JAPAN IN APRIL!

#1 Post by wideawakedreaming » Mon Feb 06, 2012 3:41 pm

Hey everyone,

Just wanted to share that I am finally going to Japan after about a year and a half worth of planning. I will be quite honest - my interest in Japan and Japanese culture is rooted in my first viewing of LiT. I am insanely excited and will be posting a live 'blog' with up to date/minute pictures. Myself and a close friend are going and we are focusing on photography for a large portion of the trip!

I really hope to see some sights from the film while I am there. I believe we will be spending 1 night at the Park Hyatt. STOKED!

That's great!! I'll be sure to look through your blog once you're there! On my last trip to Tokyo in '08 I carried a tripod and extra lenses and took a lot of shots of landmarks etc, I kind of regret I didn't go light and get pictures of little overlooked details and the like. The weather is great in April, most jealous

I agree, amazing photos.

Are you still going to stay at the Park Hyatt?

Thanks Jeffyen,

The pictures were shot on a variety of cameras that range from:

Canon 5DMK2
Nikon D700
Fuji x100
Pentax 67

As for lenses, 80% of that was probably shot with a 35mm. Some of it is longer like an 135mm or 50mm.

We actually purchased two film cameras in a shop right in Shinjuku and the elder clerk showed us everything about the cameras in Japanese. We had an amazing exchange that lasted about 1.5 hours trying to figure each other out! haha
