LiT Ultimate Soundtrack (67 tracks)

#1 Post by foxchosen » Mon Dec 16, 2013 12:22 pm

I feel like this deserves it's own thread so let's make it pretty before I spam all the related threads in here to catch the attention of those of you who have long since given up...

First, some backstory.

Hi there!
I'm Fox and I'm a LiT addict.

Have been for a long time. And since I also like soundtracks, some time ago I decided to make my own, being quite upset about all the stuff missing on the OST. Took me endless days to put it together, all the research, contacts, emails, hunting for the tracks and trimming the audio from the actual movie to fill the spaces in between the songs.

Now it's almost finished. Over 50 mp3 tracks. Still few songs missing, yes, but I got the ones I wanted the most.

I got the movie version of "So Into You" with the proper woohoo sound and I also have few songs directly from Catherine Lambert.

UPDATE 22/9/2018
Several people sent me a few more related songs over the years (big thanks!), so I'm adding them to the list to go with the 15th anniversary of the movie release. Enjoy!

UPDATE 13/1/2014
Few tracks added, mp3 tags updated, fancy colors in the list, some tracks moved.

For the impatient ones who don't like to read long paragraphs, here's the current track list:

black - OST / Enhanced ST
silver - Dialogue clips
blue - Extra tracks not on any ST
red - RARE movie versions

1. Intro - Tokyo - Yellow Generation
2. Girls - Death In Vegas
3. Short and sweet, very japanese
4. The Thrill Is Gone - Julie London
5. On The Subway - Reitzell & Manning
6. Sorry, what did you say
7. Fantino - Sebastian Teller
8. I'll Stop Later
9. Shibuya - Reitzell & Manning
10. Photo shoot music
11. Where The Hell Is The Whiskey
12. Scarborough Fair - Catherine Lambert (movie version)
13. Not Everybody Went To Yale
14. Did You Ever Wonder What Your Purpose In Life Is
15. Ikebana - Kevin Shields
16. Blue Atmosphere
17. For Relaxing Times
18. Love Gun - Rick James
19. Hito Ni Yasashiku - Blue Hearts
20. Yume Ari - Des-Row Union
21. You Stepped Out Of A Dream - Catherine Lambert (movie version)
22. I'm Trying To Organize A Prison Break
23. Tommib - Squarepusher
24. You Really Are Having A Midlife Crisis
25. The State We're In - Chemical Brothers
26. Where's Your Room Key
27. Feeling I Get - The Mary Butterworth Group
28. Too Young - Phoenix
29. The Sex Pistols - God Save The Queen
30. Nick Lowe - Peace Love And Understanding
31. Brass In Pocket - Pretenders
32. More Than This - Bill Murray
33. Kaze Wo Atsumete - Happy End
34. Sometimes - My Bloody Valentine
35. That Toe Is Almost Dead
36. F*ck The Pain Away - Peaches
37. They're Taking a Dance Class
38. Nobody Does It Better - Carly Simon
39. Are You Awake - Kevin Shields
40. No, You Smiled
41. La Dolce Vita - Nino Rota
42. It Gets Easier
43. Alone In Kyoto - Air
44. l Guess You're Busy
45. Midnight At The Oasis - Maria Muldaur
46. When Are You Leaving
47. So Into You - Mark Willms (movie version)
48. We'll Start A Jazz Band
49. Ok
50. Just Like Honey - The Jesus And Mary Chain
51. City Girl - Kevin Shields

BONUS tracks related to the movie
60. 50 Floors Up - Kevin Shields (from Japanese OST)
61. Goodbye - Kevin Shields (because while not used in the film, it's included in Enhanced Soundtrack)
62. Alone in Kyoto (Lazy Session Mix) - Air (in my opinion nicer and more powerful than original, but don't want to replace the original in the list)
63. (What's So Funny 'Bout) Peace Love And Understanding - Elvis Costello (might change Nick Lowe's version for this)
64. She Gets Around - TV Eyes (listed in credits)
65. Minuetto - Dominic Sands (hotel tv scene)
66. Hito ni yasashiku - Handsome JET (heard in the arcade)
67. Doraemon Ondo - Taiko no Tatsujin Arcade Music (the drums arcade machine song)

As you can see, it's based on the Enhanced OST with few rare tracks added to it and mixed nicely with short pieces of dialogue from the movie to form a similar experience you get when watching it.

Now, since I believe in sharing, but don't really want to put the album out for the whole internet to see, when I finished it, I placed it all in a shared folder on Dropbox, by invitation only. It's free and it seemed like the best idea on how to share it with a lot of people without sending the songs to each person one by one.
If you don't have Dropbox, create one for free ( aff. link with some bonus space: https://db.tt/aEaAIvud ) and let me know the email you used to register. If you have it already, simply let me know in PM the email so I can invite you to the folder.

Needless to say, please don't change or delete anything in there. I got plenty of backups, but it's annoying. Thanks!
On the other hand, you might have something I don't. In that case feel free to upload new files and let me know about it so we can re-number the list (I got notifications turned off).

That's all from me, I hope those rare songs will bring you happiness, just as they made my day when I got them from Catherine.

Have a great day everyone!
F

Simples! Just send me a private message with the email you use for your dropbox account and I will give you access to the online folder 8)

Then you can download any of the tracks listed above directly from the dropbox web or using some dropbox software.

If you don't have dropbox, create an account first. It's free :)
Those creating new account who want some extra storage space can use my aff. link

Ciao!

First addict just got access :D

I must say I'm quite happy today, I got a message from Catherine and since it seems there is no recording of her singing the Midnight at the oasis, she might make one just for me.

That would be by far the best gift this year, I'm sure :)

Listened through all of the tracks as soon as I got it and put it on my phone! :D -- I moved "City Girl" to the beginning near enough and a few others -- Just a personal pref of course!

Thank's again! :D

Hey thanks for the invite.

I've gone through the list and noticed 1 song I had was missing. The song is "Blue Atmosphere" it's the mellow Jazz music playing in the background at the bar when Bob and Charlotte first talk.

It's track number 13 on the list. Hope this helps.

Also great work on getting the original "So into you" and Catherine Lambert songs, how did you manage to get them, did you E-mail them or something?

Great, could you upload it to the folder?
I have few changes in my mind soon (add the party song before Phoenix plays, for example) and I was actually looking for this track the other day :)

Glad you like it. It ain't a very long story, me and girl called Natalia managed to contact Catherine directly and she was kind enough to send us these tracks. Yes, she is amazing.

Update

#18 Post by foxchosen » Sun Jan 12, 2014 1:08 pm

!!! SOUNDTRACK UPDATE!!!

There were a few changes, head to the first post of the thread for details. Enjoy!
People who have access to the folder are having their files synced as I write this.

PS: Did anyone notice that listening to the full Ultimate Soundtrack takes longer than to watch the whole movie? :D :D :D

Hey I added another track - Elvis Costello's version of (What's So Funny 'Bout) Peace, Love And Understanding as I'm pretty sure that's the karaoke version Bob is singing. It's much more of a rock song than the Nick Lowe version.
Plus I prefer that version to Nick Lowe's anyway.

Fair enough, I tried to stick to original singer where it wasn't clear, not covers.

Two more votes for Castello and I'll change keep it instead of Lowe :D
