Multi-view - (simultaneous viewing) Oct 7th, 8pm EST

#1 Post by switchtosake » Thu Sep 30, 2004 1:00 am

Just wanted to post for the long awaited simul-view. October 7th at 8pm EST. Post your ICQ or MSN # and we can share the experience. The most popular messenger will rule.

Hope everyone enjoys! Grab a bottle of good sake!

Cool!

I added more identifying text to the subject and pinned it so
people can find it more easily.

I haven't heard anything back from this post and I'm hoping that people can still get on board with this. I know it's a good TV night but you tape the other shows people! :) I know Bob's cool with this. Does anyone know a web-based chat site we could all log into instead of using ICQ or messengers?

That might help. I still reccomend getting the bottle of Sake everyone!

I know I'm a bit late....

I know I'm a bit late in posting a response to the chat inquiry, but was going to offer a suggestion all the same. As of now, there isn't a chat room that I know of, esp on Yahoo for LiT. Someone could either make a user-created room, or lobby for Yahoo to put it under their movie section. I have no idea though as to how far one would get with the latter, but user-created rooms are easy to make, you just have to do it every time we want to chat.

Oh....erm, maybe I should mention that I'm also new to the forum and its nice to see others who love this movie as well :D

Sounds good. If someone wants to make one and we could set a new date...I think it would be cool to watch it with a bunch of fans, even if it is on-line!

When you decide on a date and chat area make a new post and I will pin that one and unpin this one.

The yahoo groups has a chat function. I believe if you go to the
lost in translation yahoo group, on the left panel there is a chat
option. What if people try that? Could also invite people from that
group to join.

It occured to me that aside from multi-view, people could have a
lounge night where you get a drink or two and setup the chat to just
chat in the "lounge" so to speak. With a nice Suntory whisky, your old
friend with intensity!

I will check out the LIT Yahoo chat room. I think that would work best. We can all see what every one is saying in real time. I've exhcanged emails with others on this site to talk and discuss the movie but the lag time in emails is frustrating. Real time chat would be ideal, for me.

I checked out the Yahoo site and the chatroom is available. I was able to enter it easily and we could all chat in real time while viewing the movie.

When would you all like to attempt an online watching party using the Yahoo chatroom? I'll post it on the Yahoo site. I'm a member there as well.

I created a new topic for the next viewing since this one is really about the last one and I dont want people to be confused plus its getting to a long topic!
