hah, A mistake I found...

#1 Post by ForRelaxingTimes » Mon May 09, 2005 1:11 am

Well I just noticed this mistake about 10 seconds ago while (and in the process) of watching LIT :D . When Giovanni's character John is talking to Charlotte in the hotel room, Giovanni asks Charlotte to please stop smoking; look to the right on the window seal, placed there is a wooden duck. After Giovanni asks her to quit the death addiction the camera switches to Charlotte with her comment "I like to, I don't really smoke that much." then the camera switches back to Giovanni and poof the Duck has dissapeared. Just thought I'd share that with you all. :D

Wonder where it ran off to? I know the Suntory is good but man...

Errors like those always bug me when I find them in movies. and if they bug you dont read the rest of this post.

The one in LIT that really bothers me is after their first night out together, when Bob carries Charlotte back to her room and in her bed, Charlottes stomach is showing but when it cuts back to Bob then back to Charlotte her shirt is covering her completely.

One thing I noticed was in the very beginning when Bob is just waking up to find himself in Toyoko, there is a very brief (1-2 sec) shot where the boom mike can be seen on the upper right of the screen.

Now that moment will be ruined forever. Mwahahaaaa. :D

lol. It doesn't really ruin the movie for me though because of the strong impact it had on me the first time still holds strong! :D

I'll look for those the next time I watch it :)

Remember they pretty much shot this moving free handed and limited crew. If a car passes by in a good shot than goes away in another shot there is nothing they can do about it, except maybe reshoot the whole scene at once, which I'm sure they tried to do most of the time during filming. Mistakes are going to happen in a film like this.

I don't think any of us are criticizing the way the film was shot.

In fact, I dare say it'd be near impossible to do a better job in a 27 days.

We're just pointing out little discontinuities one tends to notice after viewing an excessive number of times.

Yes agreed, we were not criticizing what-so-ever. We were only pointing them out for fun.

Yes I'm aware, just giving my opinion on why there are background mistakes in the movie.

Seven days would have been something special.

Right, 27 was what I meant to type.

Just goes to show that even the best of us can make mistakes. :D

Murray glances at the camera while he is bellowing "Peace, Love and Understanding."

The following is not a mistake but something that is hard to believe:

When Bob and Charlotte first talk at the bar, Charlotte says: "So what are you doing here?" She emphasises 'you' which implies that she's acknowledged that she knows who he is, or at least that's how I interpret it. However, later on in Bob's hotel room (just before my favourite bed scene), Charlotte claims she didn't remember seeing Bob in the lift. So that's telling me that she didn't remember looking at a western actor she recognises in a lift full of Japanese people.

Didn't Charlotte send peanuts to Bob's table before the first talk in the bar?
