I've never been, but hope to before my time here is up.

Same here, I was thinking next summer, but that all depends on my financial situation. Plane tickets aren't exactly cheap :) . I'll be downing the Suntory when I am over there though. Can't wait hah.

I put it as yes, but didn't enjoy it, but I have to qualify that.

Had a 6 hour layover in Narita Intl Airport last year, which I know isn't all that close to Tokyo. Coincidentally, it was just after I had seen LiT in the theater. And though it was fun, and perhaps a little slice of Tokyo, I can hardly say it was enough time or that I "enjoyed Japan."

I do hope to go back and see things proper-like someday.

I am longing to visit! Of course, I'd want to stay in the Park Hyatt and have a drink at the bar.

As recently as 6 months ago, there was a travel agency that advertised a LiT Package in Tokyo. I don't think it included a room at the Park Hyatt but it did include a tour of many of the locations in the movie.

Not only would I like to visit LiT locations but I'd also like to see some of the things Dave Atell (comedian) featured in his show "Insomniac". Some of the small (less than 8 patrons) bars, capsule hotels, blowfish sushi and a certain phallic festival have all picqued my interest!

All right...third time's a charm. The above 2 were my posts. I need some coffee this morning.

So the majority of us have hopes for going.
I was just watching a bit of the film and longed to be there.
Sigh. Oh well.
Someday.

Spent the summer of 1990 in Tokyo. Stayed at the delightful Yaesu Fujiya Hotel near Tokyo Station. It was a great experience and I would love to go back. Previously I lived in Hokkaido for 2 years and loved that also. I would highly recommend Japan.

Cheers!

Toyoko is the place that sits in direct parallel on a trans-pan-dimensional plane of existence next to Tokyo and can only be accessed when watching Lost In Translation. If you watch any other film with Tokyo in it you will not get to Toyoko. Only with LIT!!!!

You mean in addition to my wife, like a mistress?!
Cool idea but I'm not sure my wife would go along with that!
