I will admit, I cried the firs few times expecially when those first notes of Just Like Honey struck. Not histerically but there was a tear jearking its wa out there. I dont know why but after watching it last night I just don't feel the same way as I did watching it for the first through maybe 7th time.

I did too. It caused me severe damage. I could not get that scene out of my head, I mean, it's just so powerful- the song it's so high, mixed with the drama and their expressions and then you remember all they went through together. Cool stuff.

Yeah, I cried the first time I saw it. You feel how connected these two are, and know that this has to be the end, but you also know that they will never forget each other, and both are forever changed.

To me it's a powerful affirmation of something good...it's triumphant. These two people were just sort of wading around in the muck, and by the end of the movie they felt so alive and aware of the good things life has to offer. It hit me like a good explosion.

LIT has had a profound effect on me and yet I never cried any of the times I went to see it. Those 102 minutes in the theatre were like an opium dream, I felt like I was floating in a different conscious state. It was at other times: lying in bed unable to sleep, or at the music store listening to the soundtrack, that's when I would get emotional. And then there was that one night.

I had seen the movie a couple of times, this is during the period when it was inflicting the most intense emotional disruption. Sitting at my kitchen table having a late night snack, reliving the film, mind reeling, emotions roiling. Until finally that aching upset feeling overwhelmed me, the tears started flowing and I couldn't understand why. What was this movie doing to me?
Afterwards I felt a lot better, it was like a fever that broke that night. I continued to go see it but my reaction to it started to shift.

From a crazed obsession to a wonderful experience to what it's become now, what Sofia wanted it to feel like: a beautiful memory.

silentguest -

In all seriousness, I had a very similar experience; I wanted to cry for days after seeing the movie but couldn't; just a few weeks ago for some personal reasons I ended up reflecting on it again and finally the tears flowed. I really felt better after that.

Thanks for sharing your story.

I wonder if Sofia C will ever get to read these experiences, she would probably be amazed and happy, unless maybe she would be a bit freaked out :?

Who knows, this is an anonymous message board. She could be any of us, and reading and responding to posts daily. She could even have an Elvish moniker. Heck, she could be Bob!
