Hyatt hotel.

:D "Now it will always be the hotel that was in the movie" that is true. L.I.T. promoted this hotel unintentionally. I believe If I go to Japan I will ask for the L.I.T. cocktail...I think they just serve it in the Hyatt...whatever it is , i want to try it. I believe they now love Sophia, after doubting her. The movie sure did attract a lot of people worldwide. Thanks to Thompson for allowing Sophia and the crew to film this incredible feature. :P

According to Murray in the short "Conversation with Bill and Sofia" documentary, Sofia wasn't one to take "no" for an answer. Scarlett has said as much too, noting that Sofia never raised her voice, but she never stopped pushing for what she wanted.

I thought had read another post on this site where the poster said you could not order a Suntory whiskey at the Park Hyatt. I guess they had to start serving it due to the publicity!

That other drink sounds like a LiT Cosmopolitan...lol.

OH, I want to go and stay there so bad!! I must plan ahead since there appears to be a 98% occupancy rate.

OK next person who goes..gets coasters from the New York bar for everyone in the group here!!!

Mm wonder if an appeal was sent on behalf of the site to the Hyatt if they would send some that could be distributed around the people that call this site home? At that room rate.they can afford a few.

That and I remember reading it costs like $20 just to go in the doors of that particular bar as well.

On the 2nd it will have been a year since I went to Tokyo, an anniversary which kinda suks a little.... there is a surcharge for arriving after 8pm, i think 1000yen or something, and it´s 1800yen for a decent shot of whiskey (you can buy the whole bottle for that!!!) Interestingly enough I did have a bit of an LIT-esque experience without realising it. The night I was there a jazz band was there from new york, and I began to chat with a woman who had come to visit as she was a friend of one of the members of band. We managed to chat for most of the night and the conversation had no overtone whatsoever, and I managed to have a great (albeit expensive) evening. We did mention the movie in passing and briefly contemplated sitting in the same chairs at the bar as they were empty, though we decided it to be a bit of a cliche. I think in hindsight the place does have a slightly oppressive atmosphere, it´s mainly filled with the usual range of self important execs that make you feel like a prison break is needed, and really a visit there is more of a voyeuristic experience.

Ith - is that a slightly different picture under your name? The coloring looks more vivid (vivider?)

(Psst - I won't tell Bob that his bad word filter allowed the exact quote from Eternal Sunshine.)

Yes, I was playing around with different Icons and pictures in my sig this weekend. I wasn't very successful, so I went back to a similar pic (I had the one that silvermoon has b4) and similar unedited sig. I figured Bob would let me know if he didn't like the unbleeped version of the quote..

There's a coffee table book published recently titled "Luxury Hotels:Asia/Pacific". It includes a couple of pages on the Park Hyatt. Among the photos is a nighttime shot of the pool. You can even see the solitary figure of Charlotte standing at the edge, ready to dive in.....just kidding. Your local bookstore might carry it.
