Does anyone know if the CD Charlotte listens to about the soul is a real cd???

i don't know.
i'm also looking for it.
what i can tell you is that it's not in the credits.
the name on the cd is "Michael Rohatin". i searched for it on the web but couldn't find anything.
if anyone has a clue...

I bought "La Dolce Vita" on DVD. The movie is about an Italian photographer running around Rome and the surrounding area with no real direction in his life. He just goes with what ever is happening at the moment. He has a girlfriend that loves him, but he is too busy with other things to love her. While out and about in the city he runs in to other women that he has had, is having with, and wants to have affairs with. The movie is over 3 hours long and is slow and reflective. At the end I think the man starts to realize he has missed out of the best of his life.
At first I so no real connection to "LIT" other that both Scarlett and Bob like the movie, but the more I think about it Scarlett's husband John is extreemely simular with the main character in "La Dolce Vita".

I haven't seen the movie, but your synopsis, and comparison of the main character to John is intriguing. Great post.

I encourage everyone who hasn't seen La Dolce Vita to see it. It's one of my most favourite films. I love Fellini.

I watched the beginning of it so far. Quite intriguing but I need more time so I can watch it all the way rather then parts of it. Bob and Charlotte were setting trends with owls, inside-out shirts and soul searches cd.

I've watched it a few times over the years. Watching Marcello pursuing an empty life of dreams over what's real and in front of him is kind of draining, but it makes you take a step back and look at how far removed you can be from yourself sometimes. I think that might have been the significance of including it in LiT.
I'm still partial to 8 1/2, though. It's a much deeper film, and more rewarding, over time. I wasn't a big Fellini fan after that, but those two films deserved every ounce of praise they got, IMO.
