Check out this old press release:

Unfortunately, none of the links seem to be working anymore!

Maybe we can call the travel agency phone numbers to see if they still offer these package deals???

hey haven't been here in awhile...glad to see the community still lives on!!

this sounds like a great idea, albeit a logistical nightmare.

I agree with the sentiment here... please take lots of pics, etc. Also, hope you can make it to Shibuya and Shinjuku to walk some of the same areas in the movie.. :D 8)

Yeah, that would be wonderful. You defintelely are going to have to try and go to every part of the movie, if possible. I'll be heading out there in the summer of 2007, can't wait and then I'll be gone for a WHOLE year, be back August 2008. Can't wait!

i just got back from korea, had a ball. but the culture is so different there it really is frightening. spent a few days at seoul and a few at busan. both different and similar. seoul is your typical capital city, very oriental, while busan is more touristy and reminded me of miami. but then mebbe thats cos its the only beach i know...anyway, im not too fond of korean food tho. i prefer hong kong food. they're not very generous when it comes to portions of meat. had to eat 9 ppls share just to get full. its tasty, but i think if i lived off it i'd be at least a ft shorter. but as a holiday novelty it was great to try sumthing genuinely new. went around some of the tourist places, markets, palaces and museums and soforth in seoul, but when i was in busan it was mainly spent on and around the beach, fish markets and aquarium. theres nothing quite like piping hot fresh fish. and by fresh i mean its still squirming a bit when it goes in ur mouth. mebbe its an oriental thing but i look forward to the next time i get to have a delicacy like that. i would have liked to have gone over to japan while i was there but sadly my holiday got cut short and i barely had the time to enjoy korea. i would have really appreciated an extra week there but sadly it wasnt to be. anyway, i would very much like to go back to korea someday but its a long way from home, so we'll have to see. im being invited back to korea in the winter but i doubt that will happen. by invitation i mean by my girlfriends parents...i went, met them and was such a hit with the family, even tho i dont even speak the language, that they are inviting me back for a longer stay in a few months time. in the meantime, i'd very much like to hear from gibbsm if possible about your experiences in korea. where did you stay, and what sort of cultural background are you from, and what would u say would be the highlights of said country? if u could it would be much appreciated

Silvermoon, I thought Korea was awesome, never felt so safe in my life, you can walk down the street at anytime of day. The culture took a little getting used to but after a while i felt right at home, i consider it my second home. I am picky about all types of food, so... The reason they arent' generous with the meat especially Beef is that there just isn't much of it to begin with. I can count how many cows I've seen on 5 fingers :P i did eat at Traditional Korean restaurants, and had some interesting things, like cow cartilage. The Night life is awesome, especially in Seoul, but it was good in the small city i Lived in, Chunchon. If you have anymore questions let me know. By the way, When i left Korea, I stopped by Japan and stayed in Shinjuku, and saw some of the places in the movie and this was before i even saw the movie, so what a coincidence huh! Tokyo was so nice and clean. It is nice to know that i had been in those places where the cast was since i love the movie so much.

lol yeah, i guess i can understand the meat situation. well, i'm in hong kong atm and they give u far too much, so i guess i'll be getting fat off that instead. and yeah, i think korea does seem really safe to go around. but...they don't have rubbish bins!! wot happened there? its nice to hear that u've been to tokyo as well, thats great, i'm dying to go, was choosing between japan, thailand and taiwan (tokyo is first choice for me but budget is a problem) and ultimately im not going anywhere.

and ith...nothing can escape your all-seeing eye. i think i maybe mentioned once that she is korean so its nice to know that u still remember...thanks for your attention :) . we had a magical period where we planned all the things we had wanted to do but hadnt had the chance, and she put up with all my problems and helped me get over them through unwavering love and attention. and to top it all off, she asked me to go to korea with her to meet her parents, which i did (a story in itself), and she has given everything to me without a moments hesitation. i didnt see this potential in her even in our best moments b4. she planned out a perfect holiday in korea, i had the time of my life, her parents (her mum at least, i dont think her dad even knew who i was) were happy to meet me and i was happy to meet them, and we got along very well, the same goes for some of her close relatives (who were impressed that i could eat 9 ppls worth of food and so in true oriental fashion like me for that reason). she has been truly amazing, and she continues to be and promises to be for the next yr, which we have dedicated to making each other as happy as possible. we have promised each other our holiday time to go around europe and asia, and i am sure it will be a great yr. but sadly....she is an international student wishing to stay in the country after graduation to get a job, and to do so she feels she has to do an internship with a korean company for a yr. which means that while i am finishing my 3rd yr of uni, she will be away working, and then she will finish uni and try to do a masters as well. which means that, after this yr, we will probably not be able to see each other for another 3yrs, certainly not consistently, and much as i like to believe that things will work out in the end, i dont believe in implausible happy endings. its a crying shame that we have overcome almost everything together, plus laid the foundations for a great future by meeting her parents (better still that her mum likes me so much she insists i go back to see her in the winter), and now it appears that either way, we have a very unlikely future (if she does the internship, we're apart for 3 yrs, if she doesnt, she will probably have to leave the country to find work. unless we get married). i'm devastated, but...she has her life and i have mine. and i guess they will not be lives that cross for long.
