Singles Get Lost In Translation in the USA and the World!!!

#1 Post by Guest » Tue Jun 29, 2004 2:57 pm

This was communicated in the Lost In Translation yahoo group and after further discussion between a couple people there I am posting the following for all interested parties:

The original posting is:
From: "Lenora" <lavirosa21XXX@XXXaolnospam.com>
Subject: Get Lost In Translation In Denver

If you live in Colorado, then read this!!!!

Ever want to sip drinks in an intimate candle lit, jazzy setting?
Well, let's do it up like they did in Lost in Translation. Let's
enjoy nice music, great conversation, and tasty drinks at a great
hotel bar. Join the Get Lost In Translation in Denver Group on Yahoo.

These events are for 21 and over singles only. Events will be
canceled if less than 3 RSVP. Monthly Poll voting will take place for
meet up venues. Evite.com will be used to RSVP your attendance.

It was then suggested that this be entered on Meetup.com to spread this around the country and the world. But Lenora said that was too costly and then made the following suggestions for those who are interested in spreading this new cool concept:
Just some FYI, its probably better to not use the
forum for organizational purposes. I would suggest going the same route
as I did with the yahoo group and evite. Then one of us can create a
web-ring so we can all link together in someway. And if weareawake.org
is nice enough to provide a link to our webring, then people would have
access to all the groups.

Each city will need its own coordinator. Its easier to start a yahoo
group with the title of Lost In Translation In (Your City) and create an
account on EVITE.com. Place the yahoo group in your local catagory of
yahoo groups. You can use the same pictures etc. Ill create a help
document to show you how to setup the front page, to make it easier for
you. Then all you do, is create an evite, and some people from
evite.com will RSVP on thier own, while others from your group will be able to
RSVP as well.
Lenora also said that she could create and design the group for your city and pass along the full ownership to you. All you have to do is register with evite.com and create your first evite. And also get a webring started.

Good luck and have fun with it!
