mine are tommib by squarepusher & goodbye by kevin shields (tracks 4 & 6).

also does anyone know where track 6 is in the movie? if it's in the movie at all it must be very faint, but i've watched tons of times & with the volume blasting (the ikebana track was very clear) & had no luck at all.

I have wondered about this too. I've never been able to find "Goodbye" in the film even with the volume cranked.

Isn't 'Goodbye' the music when Charlotte is listening to the Soul CD? I'm going to have to check now :D

Anyway my favourite tracks are 'Girls' and 'Sometimes' - although I absolutely love this soundtrack, I just picture the scenes as I listen to it.

Unfortunately, I have yet to get the soundtrack, but I have heard the songs and can safely say "Girls", "Tommib", "On the subway", "Sometimes" and "Just like honey" are my favourites, the last one standing out particularly. :)

I love the way Sometimes comes in on the taxi ride home from Karaoke. Such a perfect union of sound and vision. It's perfect. Also, the whole Kyoto sequence with Air's music Alone in Kyoto is again...perfect.

I agree, on both notes. 8)

Alone in Kyoto and City Girl are my 2 favs. The video for City Girl just captures the whole mood and effect for me. :D

by Just Like Honey...
Those are my two favourites as well, and I love Tommib. Whenever I hear it it's so undeniably LiT that it brings me back into the moment almost instantly, every time.

The cool thing about Alone in Kyoto in the movie is that it's a music video in itself. You could extract that part alone for the iPod and just watch it as a music video. Hey, actually, I may just do that.

Epstein, I totally agree with you about Loveless; really almost all of it could have been used. Something like Touched is practically made for incidental scenes...

(Also, I just got back from Tokyo this past week--haven't dared to watch LiT yet.)

Same here. Before I watch LiT, I usually let the menu play for about 10 minutes while I'm doing some last minute things. This is my appetizer for the movie. It really gets me in the mood.

Yeah...I totally do that too. It's the perfect set up for the film.

I know what I said earlier in this thread but Just Like Honey is the first track that really registered for me. So that would be another one. It was after only maybe my 2nd or 3rd-ever viewing years & ago. I guess I took it at face value, after the Tokyo trip she's going to take on the world, in whatever she decides to do.

I know it is kinda obvious but Tommib is the perfect combination of sound and visuals, If you break it down and analyse what makes it so great, then the scene loses something.

Alone in Kyoto for me.

It just makes for a perfect scene: Charlottes mood, the spirituality of the place, the wedding procession, even the weather...

Although I must say the whole soundtrack is just perfect. I think Sofia did an amazing job putting it together!

Although I love sometimes, girls and Tommib

I'm gonna have to go with kaze wo atsumete. When Charlie brown sings it in the background of the zebra wallpaper bit just gets me.

Its the perfect mix of familiar and foreign\exotic

^this, such a perfect little film/sound moment in a film crammed with 'em.
