Five years later, and this film can still make my heart ache

Whenever I watch this film, I can't help but think of the person that was with me when I first saw it, and whom I've since lost. For me, watching it is both sweet and sad, not unlike the film itself.

There's a nostalgia element to watching LIT now I think. Times have changed and our lives have changed since we first saw it. I sometimes think that like the lives we lead, certain elements of the tokyo we see in LIT may no longer be there in the future. Japanese culture is very adept at portraying that ephemeral nature of life.

That's very true, and it does not portray it in a nihilistic way. but in a much more subtle, existential layer

I haven't watched it in years and I think I've got the urge to see it again. (Do we still do simulviews? Easters coming up so how about one people?? Are you in?)
I've just finished watching the film again, it tends to find its way into the player a couple of times a year and never loses its appeal. As far as simulviews go, it would be great to have another one and we usually do have one in the autumn as far as I can remember?

I just watched it an hour ago. There's such a thing as 'diminishing returns' but I don't think it applies to LiT.. The feeling at the end is indescribable...

I tend to feel that more now, times are hard and the reality starts to kick in that dreams that you have may stay as just that. But LIT will always be the same, like a small time capsule.
