Manic Monday

#1 Post by I65 » Mon Nov 07, 2005 3:41 pm

Manic Monday
Written by Christopher
Main Voice: SUSANNA
Produced by David Kahne
Released on 'Different Light' (1985) & 'Greatest Hits' (1990)
Also released as a single A-side with "In A Different Light" (1985)

Six o'clock already I was just in the middle of a dream
I was kissin' Valentino by a crystal blue Italian stream
But I can't be late 'cause then I guess I just won't get paid
These are the days when you wish your bed was already made.

It's just another manic Monday (oh-woe)
I wish it was Sunday (oh-woe)
'Cause that's my Funday (oh-woe)
My I don't have to runday (oh)
It's just another manic Monday.

Have to catch an early train, got to be to work by nine
And if I had an air-o-plane, I still couldn't make it on time
'Cause it takes me so long just to figure out what I'm gonna wear
Blame it on the train but the boss is already there.

It's just another manic Monday (oh-woe)
I wish it was Sunday (oh-woe)
'Cause that's my Funday (oh-woe)
My I don't have to runday (oh)
It's just another manic Monday.

All of my nights why did my lover have to pick last night to get down (last night, last night)
Doesn't it matter that I have to feed the both of us, employment's down
He tells me in his bedroom voice:
"C'mon honey, let's go make some noise" (ba ba ba baaaa)
Time, it goes so fast (when you're having fun).

It's just another manic Monday (oh-woe)
I wish it was Sunday (oh-woe)
'Cause that's my Funday (oh-woe)
My I don't have to runday (woe)
It's just another manic Monday (oh-woe)
I wish it was Sunday (oh-woe)
'Cause that's my funday (oh)
It's just another manic Monday.

I'm trying to figure out if you posted this because you're having a tough Monday or had a great Sunday night! (Or both.)

Mostly a tough Monday, but also because I heard it on the radio on my way to the bank, on my break, and it cheered me up. :D

For the longest time I thought that was Jeff Lynne (or ELO). I was amazed when I learned it was Todd Rundgren. I didn't think he had that sense of humor.

This song is so cheesy yet timeless. It does make me smile as it describing perfectly my grumpy mood at 5:50 in the morning.
Here we are, Stuck by this river
