Forum Kinda Slow

#1 Post by Wing Fat » Wed Oct 12, 2005 5:50 am

I've noticed the forum runs a lot slower than it should. Navgating between threads or posting a message means waiting several seconds for the action to happen. I'm familar with phpBB and I know it should run a heck of a lot faster than this. I also have a high-speed connection so I know it's not me. (Pages load fast after they start loading, it's waiting for the server to respond to requests that takes an excessive amount of time.)

I'm pretty sure the problem is on the server end. Maybe your web hosting service can do something to speed things up?

Not poking fun at you specifically, because I am the same way...but isn't it funny that we have become so used to instant gratification, that it is annoying when we have to wait "several seconds" for something to happen?

The decrease in the delay to our gratification is proportional to the decrease in the so-called gratification itself.
