This is absolutely fantastic! Thanks for sharing...however did you find this?

We had the great fortune of staying there for four nights in the fall of 2016 and it was every bit as elegant and fantastic as it appeared in the movie. There is just such a rich timeless style to it. Even in 2016 everything looked exactly as it had appeared in the film, which preceded our visit by more than a decade. We went to the New York Bar three out of those four nights and on our last night a Christmas tree had been set up next to the band. This change reminded me very much of the scene in the film when, towards the end of the movie, a new band has taken over in the bar, signifying a change/shift in the story and letting us know that it was time for the characters to go home and move on with their lives. When I saw that Christmas tree go up, I too was kind of sad knowing that the next day we'd be heading home.

Wow, Emma, you're like the only other person still active here :D

I saw in one other post of yours that your other fav movie is Sideways?!? OMG I love that movie too! I mean, nowhere near as much as LIT and nowhere near as affected by it, but still a fantastic piece of film that I enjoy over and over again. Is there fan forum for that movie? Miles Raymond's pain is so....just....painful! but so terribly comical at the same time. Ok I digress.

Last week I was on youtube looking for any videos of bands that have played at the Park Hyatt's New York Bar and unfortunately there are little to none, interestingly there are many wedding videos at the Park Hyatt, professional videos done by production companies, used as promotion. My is that a nice venue for a wedding!

Hi there! How funny -- you mentioned that I'm active here, but it took me exactly one month to reply! I'm sorry about that ... !

I do love Sideways! Unfortunately, there are no forums I know of for it ... If you enjoy the film, I would also suggest the book! Events happen a little bit differently, but still an enjoyable read! (Well, as enjoyable as reading about somebody like Miles could be! I say that with love!) The author, Rex Pickett, also published a sequel called Vertical. I haven't read it yet, but the summary really amuses me!

Back on topic, the Park Hyatt Tokyo looks absolutely stunning. I would love to stay there one day ... !
