How Many Times....

#1 Post by phillygalinutah » Thu Jun 17, 2004 11:14 pm

Lost In Translation just amazes me... and this topic hasn't come up on this site yet.

How many times have you watched this film :?:

This is the only movie I have ever watched over and over; I'm still not tired of it one bit. I find something new and refreshing in it each time.

Saw it once at the theater, numerous times (stopped counting) on DVD.

"13 times in the theater (2 or 3 after I had the DVD). A few times on DVD...I don't think I'll start counting until I get a huge TV...which will be a long time.

I'm just a babe. I've seen it twice on DVD, but am dying to watch it again as soon as I get my copy back from my brother!

I first saw it on a DVD screener. Then I downloaded it (I'm a bad man), saw it twice more. Then I bought the DVD when it came out. Watched it two or three times since then.

Since I became an adult (I saw Star Wars 17 times in the space of two months when it first came on TV) I've not repeatedly watched that many movies.

Between early October when I went to see it for the first time and early
April when it was finally pulled from the theatres in my area I'm guessing I saw it about seventy times.

I admit it was an illness, an obsession/compulsion, a derangement, an addiction. The only cure was to go cold turkey.

I don't have the dvd or video. I've decided it's best to stay away from this movie for a while.

It is an addiction. This movie is like a fine wine, if flows, it has body and texture that lingers . I would hate to be Sofia, how could she ever do better than this movie? I purchased the DVD and have watched it six times! I have also gotten into Kevin Sheilds and the music he made for this movie and his previous music from My Bloody Valentine. I will probably purchase the soundtrack also. This movie is good on so many fronts, the cinematogrophy is beyond belief. Ever budding filmaker needs to see this movie, to prove what can be done with very little resources.
