Shameless Self-congratulations
My wife and I just celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary earlier this week. Wow - typing that sure makes me feel old!

Thank you all! It certainly takes work - and as we hit the empty nester stage it can become apparent that the years raising children contributes to a certain drifting apart - many couples are content to live out their lives being apart - but I think it's important to work at getting close to the feelings we had as newly married.

We did - with our kids as well at a special restaurant. The bill was more expensive than our first month's rent!
Also - we had a brick extension to our deck/patio built where we put an outdoor fireplace. We've used it a few times and will all through the fall. I love sitting outside in the cold with a fire going (maybe it's from my Boy Scout days.)
We'd love to get a hot tub outside - and we would except we're afraid that our kids would never move out!

That's more than special.
I did a research project and essay for my sociology class on divorce rates in America and their contribution to the dissolving of families. Needless to say, it was a depressing project...
I am lucky, in that, although my parents divorced while I was growing up, they were both very skillful in handling it, and I still see both parents enough.
Congrats, moviefan. You are, fortunately or unfortunately, among a very elite rank now.
