What is this music?
Can anyone tell me what music is playing as the scene changes from Bob and Charlotte heading out of the hotel on their first night together in Tokyo to the club. I don't recognize it.

Re: I love that sound.
Check out some more of the Chemical Brothers' stuff (Galaxy bounce is a good one), some of their music can get pretty weird though. Also maybe try Squarepusher (The song Tommib can be heard in the scene where Charlotte sits in the window of her hotel room during the day). Also Prodigy, Massive Attack, Daft Punk, and maybe Portishead would suit your tastesBen-B wrote:Anybody know of artists/groups who sound similar to that!

I thought about making a new topic for this, but it doesn't really deserve it.
Anyway, yeah, I found a nice shoegaze band that are very obviously influenced by My Bloody Valentine et al. They've got a jap singer. Listening to their album reminds me of LiT. Samples on the site:

Thanks for the tip Nak Nak. Here is a review I came across for those interested. Nice mention of our favourite movie too!

A site i'd suggest is Pandora.com It's a really unique site; some of you have probably heard it.Ben-B wrote: Anybody know of artists/groups who sound similar to that!
The site finds music that is similar to what you listen to. You type in a band name, and it comes up with bands that sound the same. I'm not sure how it works exactly, but it seems that it describes the band you searched, then searches for other bands' descriptions that match. So if you search Chemical Bros. maybe the description includes "...foot-stomping beats" (lol i dunno). So the site would search for electronic DJs that also have "foot-stomping beats" in their descriptions. Best of all, it lets you listen to FULL LENGTH versions of about 5-7 songs that it comes up with! The one downside is that sometimes it suggests a song by the same band, which kind of defeats the purpose, if you ask me.
Oh, and its FREE! (but it does limit the number of songs it will suggest for each searched band, although i don't think it limits the number of bands you search for, but i'm not entirely sure.)
All in all, it's a great site and I recommend that every music lover check it out. And to think that my 12th grade math teacher told me about this site..LOL!
That was cool. I gobble this stuff up. More more!!Alathal wrote:found this on youtube. nicely done.

Another site which offers the audience the ability to fully customize their station is:
http://ca.music.yahoo.com/
You setup a profile and chose genres and artists and rate them. The station will select many options of similar styles and music that fit your customization. This is a good way to be introduced to artists and songs you may never have known or would come across.

I absolutely love that site. It's great to be able to have it on in the background or something without having to worry about creating a playlist. You basically type in the name of a single song or artist, and you have a nice playlist that you can use to expose youself to other bands or kinds of music without having to search tirelessly for something good.jml98 wrote:A site i'd suggest is Pandora.com It's a really unique site; some of you have probably heard it.

I also have a song question - I know this has been covered on this forum before - it's Mark Willms rentition of 'So into you' which to me is pure genius. It suits the tone and atmosphere of the music very well.
Does anyone know if it is available anywhere? I've tried googling for it, came up empty.
I have one version of this song, off of a cd named 'Les Paul and friends' performed on guitar by Peter Frampton. The version is good, but different. Someone mentioned also a version by the Atlanta Rhythm Section, but I have not got that one.
