For the rest of this week, I'm off today and I'm off on Sunday, Saturday evening would be fine but tomorrow and Friday I wont be home from work until almost 10 pm CDT and depending on where some live, they may be in bed for work, etc.

I'll set a reminder on my Palm once we set a time, or a reminder on my laptop, because I have horrible short-term memory and the chance is there I'd forget about the room. If anyone is on Yahoo messenger or AIM regularly and wish to IM me, that'd be great too, I'm on that constantly. So....just lemme know what the game plan is :)

Any night but Tuesdays are best for me. The baseball playoffs will hurt my availability.

***IMPORTANT FOR NON-YAHOO MEMBERS***

Hi guys, I just wanted to remind everyone that if you are not currently a member of the Yahoo "Lost In Translation" group, you will need to sign up on that board to have access to the chat feature there. Gena may have changed the requirements for the site, but I think that's the way it works right now. I know many of us are already signed-up there, just wanted to give a heads-up to some of the more recent members. So sign up early, and avoid the last-minute rush ! :)

Also, here is the direct link to the LiT Yahoo Chat area, so you can test everything:

http://movies.groups.yahoo.com/group/lo ... ation/chat

Hope to join you all when we settle on a date/time.

hull_street suggested that I look for a chat plug-in for phpbb.
I am looking into but I dont know if it will be functional before whenever
you choose a date. I checked a few things. A lot of the hacks use IRC
and my host does not support IRC. There are other plugins I'll take
a look at.

EDIT:
I have posted an announcement about this in the Admin forum.

I'll be sure to join the group once a time/date has been set. Anyone who just wants to chat on IM can feel free to IM me at RogueA7 on AOL instant messenger and RogueAngel7 at Yahoos, if a few of us are IM'ing each other, I'll set up a conference or chat room for us, or we can all just wait and have a time/date for the chat feature on groups. Either way I hope to hear from you guys soon. :D 8)

I'd be interested in doing this when my wife is away. Yeah, I know that sounds weird, but she's not that keen on the movie, so when wife and son to go the mother-in-law, I always dig out LIT... It's MY movie:) It'd be fun to chat with people watching it at the same time.

Yeah, you can just create a chat room in there. I have AIM but I don't know if you can create rooms."

I have added the Chat Box mod.
I documented it in the Forum Admin section.
http://www.weareawake.org//forum/viewtopic.php?t=139

Please try it and let me know if you like it or not and
if it's working ok. Also if there are any forum problems that may
have resulted from adding this mod.

Thanks!

The chatroom is working. I'm still interested in "watching" it with other LiT fans. I'll propose date and you all can respond....

9pm CST is 10pm EST. Im not sure if thats too late for East Coasters who work! So I put down 9pm EST which is 8pm CST And 6pm PST.
Let me know if that works or not. If Easters can stay up later then ok we can change the time! Maybe its too early for the west coast?!

What about a late night fri/sat night like 12midnight EST?! :)

Fine here.
It's going to be a kind of un-LIT experience, watching a movie about loneliness with a lot of people."

Yes, but we'll also be isolated from each other, which might enhance the experience a bit.
We'll be together with people we have something in common with, yet alone at the same time.
Kind of fitting, if you ask me ! :)

Any ideas about how we're going to synchronize our DVDs ?

I would guess once everyone is in chat, we'll all cue up to a certain point and then say in 10 seconds press start or something.
I dont imagine we'll all be exactly on the same point but probably within 30 to 60 seconds. I have a tape so for me whatever is the first frame is a good place to start. I'll have to go look.
