Five year Anniv Simul-view! - Sept. 21 - see post for times

#1 Post by preciouswhile » Thu Jul 10, 2008 7:54 pm

Hard to believe but it's coming up on 5 years since the release date. I know it's a little early to start talking about it, but things have been quiet around here so hopefully this will give enough time to generate some interest.

It's been a while since even I've watched this movie, so let's all get together and enjoy it, um, together!

UPDATED OFFICIAL DATE AND TIME:
Date: September 21, 2008
Time: 12:00PM Pacific, 3:00PM Eastern, 8:00PM UK
Place: Weareawake.org forum chat (link at the bottom of the forum index)

What's going on?
Shortly after the meeting time, we will all start our copies of the movie simultaneously. Grab your laptop, a whiskey or vodka tonic, watch the movie and discuss.

Can I show up late?
Of course. If you come in late you can probably figure out where we are by the discussion, or someone will give you a time to fast forward to.

Hey,sounds good. 8)

I took part in last years simul-view and it was a great experience to watch it 'with' like-minded people from all over the globe.

Sept 21 is good for me. Let's do it!

September 21 works for me! I'll be about two weeks from taking the LSAT by then, and I can't think of a better way to help me momentarily relax than a viewing of LIT.

I have "stickied" this post so that it remains prominent with this date coming up in only two months! The date/time itself would vary depending on what region people are in when it occurs. I myself will be attending a wedding that weekend so while unable to attend in "person" will be with you in spirit! :D

People should just verify that the chat function is still working. . .

I'm a definite possibility. I was at the last one. It was certainly an event.

Bah, I forgot to post a time. Last year we did it at 12 noon pacific, which worked out to 3pm eastern and 9pm GMT I think. Anyone that happened to be in asia or australia would be the morning of the 22nd but I'm not sure if we have anyone from there? Anyway that time seemed to work well last year so we should keep it as the first choice.

I just checked the chat and seemed to be working fine.

Well, Bob's email said the 20th but it should definitely be the 21st (Sunday). :)

Thank you for sending that out though, hopefully it will bring more people back for the view.

I updated the first post. It's 12 noon LA, 3pm NY, and 8pm UK. Sorry for the miscalculation.
